Bella Italia — Restaurant in Aachen

Small and dark even from the outside, this 30 seater little restaurant with hand written menus is a surprise find that does not disappoint. The food was excellent. I could not find fault in the carbonara i had. It was done the traditional way with no cream used but still a hearty and creamy sauce with a touch of heat. The gnocchi Bolognese was soft and lovely. Also very well done with all the pasta evenly coated with minced meat. No dripping and no excess sauce. Easily one of the best pastas we have in Aachen.

The Tiramisu looked absolutely disappointing, like someone sat on it, but taste wise it was surprisingly good with a taste of alcohol . Only gripe is that there was still crunchy sugar in the whipped egg white.

Zabaione was good too. However it was strange in that it couldnt decide if it was a hot or a cold dessert with lumps of ice cream amid warm cherries beneath the whipped egg and chocolate sauce.

The only issue i had was with the size of the dishes. These are really side dish sizes and more like what you find in a French restaurant. We really had to have the dessert to feel satisfied.

The tiny size of the restaurant also makes conversing a little difficult as it can get quite loud. Then again it could be that the restaurant is a victim of its own success- it is almost always full and we were lucky to get a table for two without a reservation.

Also slight minus in that they do not take card payment even though a single dish will put you well above a 10 euro minimum for card payments in most establishments. Bring a minimum of 40 euros cash per person!

The stairs out front dont make this place disabled friendly and the size certainly doesnt make it kid friendly. It's a nice place to bring someone special for a very good meal where you dont want to talk so much and when the price is not a...

This is a cozy restaurant with a reasonable price They served very tasty food, wine, and dessert How so? It's our regular place when my boyfriend feels to have carbonara, as he told me it's the best carbonara pasta he has had until now in Germany. I usually choose random pasta to taste different food but he is in love with carbonara. This time we decided to have dessert and end up tasting like our main dish

Interesting, if you love to win you don't get disappointed here, they serve good wine which is randomly different but like always good.

Ein Traum von Essen: Kurz vor Weihnachten haben wir kurzfristig einen grossen Tisch (20 Personen) gesucht. Im Bella Italia wurde wir mit offenen Armen empfangen und konnten aus einer reduzierten Speisekarte (was vorher abgesprochen war) auswaehlen. Vor- und Nachspeisen gab es fuer alle zusammen, dadurch hatten wir eine sehr gute Auswahl. Das Bella Italia ist ein relativ kleines Restaurant mit wenigen Tischen. Es war volles Haus, aber zu jeder Zeit war der Service sehr aufmerksam und jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt. Die Qualität der Speisen war ausgezeichnet. Es ist mehr eine Osteria als ein typisch italienisches Restaurant. Ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Ein absoluter Erfolg.
