This was not the first time we have been to this establishment, but yesterday it was a bit of an embarrassment, a completely ruined evening and the only establishment in Augsburg where we will never return. It all started with the fact that we ordered a large set of rolls for 35 euros; before, you always had the opportunity to choose what exactly you want from the positions that are included there, and that’s why we did it, as we did it before. after 20 minutes, we decided to ask again and clarify whether everything remained the same as before, to which the waitress began to laugh and say “no, the chef himself decides what you will eat,” although this is not indicated anywhere and what should I do if I am allergic to some product that the chef chooses. We wondered why this was so, because 2 months ago we chose everything ourselves, the waitress could not say anything and called her colleague, who said that they had a new menu and now they cook like this, although it was not. Then, when our order was brought to us, we discovered that the items we ordered were simply not there. For example, we ordered item 712, but they brought us 720 and instead of 760 they brought us 716, and these are completely different positions. It’s clear that in order to understand that they brought us the wrong thing, we tried 1 piece from each meal and called the waitress again, she began to shout that she wrote down everything correctly, although this was not the case, she simply did not know the numbers even after she wrote down our order , she didn’t even repeat it so that we could double-check that everything was correct. Then she again could not say anything why we were given the wrong order and again called her colleague, a man who, as we understood, works behind the bar. We explained the situation to him, to which he very aggressively began to say “why did you eat it then?” although we did not eat the positions that were not correct, but tried 1 piece and left it to say that this was not what we ordered. He started shouting without even listening to us that we would have to pay for it, aggressively waved his hands and constantly raised his tone, although we tried to resolve the issue normally and convey that his colleague was simply confusing the numbers. Next, we said that the situation was simply “stupid,” to which he began banging on our table and shouting very loudly that no one dares call his colleagues stupid, although we did not insult her in any way, situation was simply stupid, we are all human and it happens to everyone . We just wanted to explain our situation and get a banal “sorry,” but in the end we got a huge scandal. Conclusion: if you come across a waiter who served us, there is a 90% chance that you will not get what you ordered. Ambiente: Schön eingerichtetes Restaurant, mit dunkel grauem Anstrich und vielen Holz und Bambus Dekor Elementen. Leider ist der Raum sehr hoch und nicht gedämpft, so daß es sicherlich sehr laut sein kann wenn das Restaurant voll ist.
Service: Empfang nahe der Eingangstüre, um dann zu einem Tisch geleitet zu werden. Freundlich, aber ohne jegliches Highlight. Schnelles aufnehmen der Bestellung und servieren des Getränks.
Speisen und Getränke: Reichliche Auswahl an Vorspeisen, verschiedenen Spezialitäten und besonders zubereiteten Gerichten.
Ich bestellte 4 Stück Dim Sum und ein einfaches Gericht mit Ente, Erdnusssoße und gebratenem Eierreis. Da ich mittags nur kurz Zeit hatte zum Essen ließ ich beide Gerichte gleichzeitig servieren.
Normale Wartezeit von 20 Minuten bis zum Servieren der Speisen. Alles wurde optisch sehr schön auf attraktivem Geschirr angerichtet.
Die "Ha Cao & Siu Mai" Dim Sum wurden traditionell in einem Bambus Dämpfkorb serviert. Sie waren heiß, geschmacklich und von der Konsistenz sehr gut. Wirklich köstlich.
Mein Hauptgericht "Gebratener Eierreis mit Ente und Erdnuss Soße" konnte leider überhaupt nicht überzeugen. Obwohl ich die Dim Sum zuerst zu mir nahm, war mein Hauptgericht höchstens lauwarm. Der Reis wurde nur sehr kurz in der Pfanne mit etwas Sprossen, Brokkoli und sehr wenig Ei gebraten. Die Ente war trocken und schon an manchen Stellen hart, als ob sie schon länger unter einer Wärmelampe stand. Die servierte Erdnuss Soße war geschmacklich gut. Ich wurde während des Essens auch nicht gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung wäre, erst beim Bezahlen wurde ich bezüglich des Essens nachgefragt. Schade eigentlich, da das Hauptgericht von der normalen Abendkarte war und 14,90 € gekostet hat und meines Erachtens für das Gebotene viel zu teuer ist. Hätte ich von der Business Lunch Karte etwas bestellt wäre sicherlich die gleiche Ente mit anderen Beilagen gekommen zu einem günstigeren Preis.
Ach ja, fast hätte ich es vergessen. Auf den Dim Sum und auf dem Eierreis waren so fertig Röstzwiebeln drauf gestreut. Meiner Meinung nach haben die auf diesen Gerichten nichts verloren.
Getränke Angebot ist vielfältig. Besonders die kreativen alkoholfreien Cocktails haben sich sehr gut angehört. Leider hatte ich nur ein Spezi.
Fazit: Ich werde das Golden Rice sicherlich nochmal besuchen. Beim nächsten Mal werde ich dann aber eher auf die außergewöhnlichen Speisen ausweichen, da ich die "Standard Gerichte" woanders besser kriegen kann. Dann werde ich auch eine neue Rezension schreiben, die sicherlich besser ausfallen wird. So kann ich für diesen Besuch leider nur 2...

They then told us we couldn't sit down anymore, we could only order food to go. They couldn't explain as to why we would be able to sit down and order drinks, but couldn't sit down with food. They close at 11pm, last order for drinks were at 10:30, kitchen closes at 10.
We ended up leaving with food to go, that they had to cook anyways. We weren't able to sit down to eat it - but drinks sitting down would have been fine ?! I still don't understand their reasoning. They cooked it to go, but putting it on plates would have been too much work, I assume.
There was a language barrier (we communicated in german), but none the less the attitude of the female servant was very dismissive.
