ABSINTH — Restaurant in Berlin

This is a good bar if you want to see where old East Germans hang out as well as more of the working-class crowd in Berlin. The drinks are decent, but the focus here is more on beer and shots and darts. The bartenders failed to make a basic White Russian. So don't go here expecting any cocktails. The music is very good but the people working here are not overly friendly. I guess it's the perfect "Berlin" experience for anyone who is a tourist and looking for a genuine, down-to-earth bar. Important to note: Whenever I go here, it's to meet up with my husband's good friend and his friend circle, so I'm able to ignore the lack of niceties a bit better than other people I have been seeing reviewing this place. I can imagine that I would be giving the bar 1 or 2 stars if I were going there without meeting with someone who is a friend of the bartenders, especially because of my foreign background and accent...but hey! That's the real East...

It was the scariest bar experience of my life. I was harassed by the owner of the bar. He came up to me and my friend and made jokes about us being gay and then tried to touch us. He forcibly grabbed my hand and got too close to my body and tried to caress my face. We wanted to leave the place immediately, but I paid for my drinks and at that moment he went behind the bar and poured my glass of wine that I had just ordered and couldn't drink.

I've lived in many places in the world but this is the first time I've encountered such a lost host in my life. It's a danger to the city and the neighborhood... I will not...

Das Absinth, ist ein toller Ort .  Eine Klassische Tresenbar, ein Urgestein in Prenzlauer Berg wovon es nicht mehr viele gibt.

Nette Bedienung, Super  Service und Klasse Preise.

Ohne Schicki und Schi Schi.

Gute Getränke,  4 Bier vom Hahn , einige Klassische Cocktails, eine kleine feine Auswahl. Alte Prenzlauer Berger Originale am Tresen, aber auch junges Publikum ist dort anzutreffen eine gute Mischung aus dem was den Kiez um den Helmholz Platz so schön macht. Man kann dort Rauchen was für viele zum Bier einfach dazu gehört. Es gibt einen guten Kicker ,der wenn es nicht zu spät ist für umsonst bespielt werden kann, was ich total Klasse finde.
