Asia Land — Restaurant in Berlin

I've been to 4 Vietnamese restaurants in this area this week. This was by far the most disappointing. The food was not bad; it was bland, mediocre and uninspired. Oddly, the best dish was the one I had no expectations of: mushroom maki (sushi). Nicely prepared and tasty although the Wasabi had a slight mayonnaise taste.. From there it was downhill fast. Summer rolls with tofu. Barely any fresh herbs. Basically wrapper, odd tofu, noodles. The following vegi spring were even worse. I couldn't tell if they had stuffing or not. They arrived eventually and had no flavor. My dinner partner's tofu pad Thai was { boring... My own dish consisted of shredded iceberg lettuce, warm noodles, reheated tofu that had seen better days. Service was hit and miss because they were busy with only a couple of people trying to cover the crowds. On the positive side, it was short 30% cheaper than most other Vietnamese in the area. They need new menus with new recipes, more staff, and a new start....

Had a lovely dinner here on me and my boyfriends one year anniversary. The food was amazing 👏 and the waitress was so nice 😍😍. I had amazing sushi and my boyfriend had a vegetarian bowl with tofu. We both really loved the service and the food. Since we are both broke from berlins high rent, especially now that the electricity is so expensive we needed some cheap but still good food for our anniversary and Asia Land absolutely delivered ❤️❤️. From a price/performance perspective you just can't fault this place. Staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient, the decor is relaxed and tasteful.
