I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend since we were craving for Ramen. When we first went inside, we were greeted with a warm and nice hospitality from the restaurant. The people working there were kind and offered us a table, the atmosphere also reminded me of a small local restaurant in Japan.
When we ordered our food, it was tasty and super good. Although, we found out that my girlfriend ate something that was hard, similar to plastic wrapper. She was already sick, so it made me worry for her health.
Confused, I ask for the waiter and apologised immediately after notifying him of the situation. Moments later, the chef and one other employee came to offer there sincere apologies.
We told them that it was okay since the food was tasty, the service was very hospitable, and we were having a good time.
As compensation, the food that we ordered was on the house which was a surprise to me. We even told them that we would still pay, even if the ramen my girlfriend had was for free. They insisted and we obliged.
This is the first time that happened to us, but it was sorted out in a nice and professional manner.
Hopefully, this won't happen again to us and others who will continue to go and eat at this restaurant.
Overall, it was a nice experience, regardless of the outcome. We had good food, had compensation, and had a...
Read moreWalked into EArth Tokyo on a whim with my partner, half-expecting regret (empty restaurant + someone ushering you in = usually a red flag). But plot twist, it was actually really good.
The menu is surprisingly huge, yet the ramen doesn’t suffer for it. The broth? Silky, rich, and clearly simmered with love (and time). Noodles were just the right bite, and shoutout to them for serving a whole ajitama, no stingy half-egg nonsense here.
That said, the toppings were a bit of a letdown. There was a generous amount of meat, but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. It lacked that smoky char and depth of flavor you really crave in good chashu. The spinach seemed frozen, corn tinned, and mushrooms almost non-existent. Definitely more volume than finesse.
Service felt a bit unsure of itself, and the ambiance is a whole identity crisis. The “Earth” branding doesn’t vibe with the harsh lighting, fake plants, and anime soundtrack. Felt more sci-fi clinic than nature-inspired ramen haven.
Still, for €16-18, it’s a pricey bowl, but honestly, the broth makes it worth it....
Read moreMy mission to find the best ramen in Berlin has lured my to this place.
I went for karaage and miso ramen. The karaage weren't crispy and gave of the scent of fried palm oil. Personally, I'm not a fan of palm oil, however EArth Tokyo seems to change their frying oil frequently, so the flavor wasn't bad. Surprisingly, the chicken was really tender and felt high quality, which saved the dish.
EArth Tokyo's Miso ramen did not manage to beat my current top contenders in Berlin. Still get's a taste pass though.
By far the best part about my visit were the staff. Not only were they super friendly and happy to hear someone stumble a bit of Japanese, but they even asked if I wanted an apron, which made me question, why not every ramen shop is offering this yet. It literally saves your cloths from the otherwise unavoidable stains...
