I visited Benedict Berlin for my birthday lunch on July 25th together with two friends, and I am writing this review a little later. I had planned it for us as we had heard so many good things about the place.
We arrived without a reservation and were kindly seated at the table near the entrance. From the very beginning our waiter was so welcoming and friendly. When I mentioned how much I loved the cinnamon jam he even brought us an extra, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The pancakes were truly amazing and even my friend, who is a chef, said they were excellent. We waited about 25–30 minutes for our food, but that was not a problem at all.
Unfortunately, the experience changed once our food arrived. While we had just started eating the assistant store manager (I believe she was Spanish, wearing glasses) came to our table and told us we had to move to another table because the bar would be installed. This felt very unprofessional. We had to carry our own plates to a small corner table next to some inappropriate items, which definitely affected our experience. The installation could easily have waited another 30 minutes until we finished our meal, or we could have been moved earlier while waiting for our food. To interrupt us in the middle of eating on my birthday felt unnecessary and rude. In fact, after we moved, the bar was just left standing there.
I mentioned this to our new waitress, who was apologetic and told us she would address it with the assistant manager. Because of this unpleasant interruption, we skipped coffee and went elsewhere afterwards.
I am leaving this review as valuable feedback. We are three people who all work in the luxury hospitality industry and one of us is a chef. We truly appreciate great food and service and while the food and our waiters were wonderful, the handling by the assistant manager left a negative impression. Hopefully, the management team will take this into account, because Benedict has amazing food and kind staff that deserve better representation.
To the assistant manager: thank you for making me feel bad on...

Read more3/5 stars. Too hyped for the quality of food you’re given and the wait time. I would prefer to make Eggs Benedict at home and wouldn’t need to wait 40 min to be seated and 15-20 min to be served.
The bright side: Service was kind, respectful and helped even choose and gave recommendations on plates. They offered to take the bread home, as we didn’t finish it (4 huge pieces of bread for only 3 people).
The dull side: For a place called Benedict, you would expect the Eggs Benedict to be their specialty. 2 out of 3 plates had completely cooked poached eggs, on a 6cm slide of plain white bread. For the classic Benedict, almost no Béchamel sauce, it was super dry, and the fact that they don’t use English muffins but plain white bread, kills the entire plate. The bread was also difficult to cut, slightly chewy. Also, served with a side salad with only lettuce and seeds with a bit of balsamic oil, makes it a plate that definitely puts off the mood for brunch on a nice Saturday. Only good thing was bacon and ham, well cooked. Finally the price. We payed on average 20 euros per each plate of Eggs Benedict, with juices of ~6 euros, a bill of 80 euros for 3 people. Definitely for the quality and quantity, not the best place for the value given. I think much can be done to improve the quality of the main dish, but once that is fixed, this is the last time we’ll be going to Benedict.
Hope they get better, because they have a nice place in a great location, with good staff, but definitely not the quality you expect from a Hyped brunch...
