MUSCHELBAR — Restaurant in Berlin

After browsing places in Berlin that serve Moules Frites I told my boyfriend about this specific place which resulted in him taking me here for our anniversary and let me tell you, it was the best decision ever! I spend my summers in the South of France eating fresh Moules Frites and this place could EASILY compete with the quality I'm used to and was so deeply craving.

The price/performance ratio is incredible, some of the best fries I've had, the homemade dip is amazing and the mussles are to die for. The portion is huge, no empties or closed shells and the meat is so so tender and flavorful. The elderflower limo as well as the Picon Bière are so tasty.

Besides the amazing food the ambiance was so so incredibly lovely! Made you feel like you were in a little parisian bistro, it's truly the perfect mix between fancy but still down-to-earth. The interior is so beautiful and aesthetic.

We had a reservation and sat right at the bar which was fun! Next time I'd definitely try and reserve the table in the open window! The outside seating was lovely as well, especially the two tiny gingham tablecloth-covered tables next to the tree!

Oh and not to forget— service was great and everyone is really friendly!

Will definitely come here again and take my mum here as well when she comes to visit! 1000/10 would...

1 Star because of the attitude and behavior of I guess the owner or manager.

I ordered a table another day, the same (1h after reservation) and the following day I called, to cancel it - no answer or call back. So I wrote an email to inform about the cancelation and asked for another table the day after - no answer or call back.

The 3rd day I again called, "Sven" answered finally the phone, to inform that I was trying to cancel the table multiple times by phone/mail without any reply.

His ironic answer was "thank you for canceling TODAY, abour your RESERVATION OF YESTERDAY, there is no table for you anymore available" instead of maybe a "sorry, we where busy, thanks for reaching out again to us" or "sorry I forgot to reply to your calls and email"...

In my opinion, people with that kind of behavior should not start businesses in hospitality.

I will not support people like this and will never go to this bistro again.

I rather recommend visiting the cocktailbar...

We had a lovely time at Muschelbar! The atmosphere is charming, although it was quite hot inside during our visit. Luckily, we managed to get a table without a reservation, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The Sauvignon Blanc was absolutely outstanding – truly one of the highlights of the evening. I really enjoyed the Moules Frites; the mussels were fresh and flavorful. However, the French fries were a bit of a letdown, tasting more like standard frozen fries.
