Liebling - Café & Bar Breakfast & Aperitif bar in Prenzlauer Berg since 2006 — Restaurant in Berlin

Unbelievably rude behavior from the waiter- don’t ruin your night there Sometimes the only thing that you ask is to find a place to enjoy peacefully a drink and catch up with your friends. So simple! But unfortunately for some people it’s not as simple.

We were 5 friends going there to get a drink. It was not our first time visiting this bar. The drinks took actually quite some time to arrive..almost half an hour after our drinks arrived and just when he saw that one of the 5 drinks was over the waiter came to ask if he should bring new ones. We said kindly not yet. We can call you if we need something. This behavior happened 3 times in half an hour!! And every time he was more intense. Just before we all finish our drinks he came and said that there are people waiting and we should leave to free the space! because “we didn’t drink fast and enough”. What?!! It’s even more surprising that they think they can treat people like this and nobody will react against this unacceptable behavior. He even said with pride and irony that we can complain to his boss and even what his name is if we want to use it for a review. Such a behavior definitely worth 0 stars. It’s quite dangerous how some bars feel strong and powerful because we -the people- have supported them and then they treat the customers with arrogant disrespectful behavior feeling untouchable. But even little reviews can inform others and at least rescue them from ruining their night

Edit: apparently the response of the owner below that accepts the complaints, apologizes and offers a free brunch IS NOT goodwill neither valid since google forwarded to me the complaint for defamation!!! And applying access restriction because of expressing my complaint against the unbelievable rude behavior of the waiter. Proof that is extremely important to share...

Update! The owner sent a lawyer after the people who gave them a bad review claiming we are fake profiles!!! I find it disgusting that they try to manipulate their reviews in this fashion! I am not changing my review and will keep giving them 1 star no matter what! I am a local guide with hundreds of reviews! Fake??!! Please don’t make me laugh mr owner who can’t take the fact that him and his staff are stuck up arrogant people! I noticed already that miraculously their rating went a lot up over night! Hmmmm…. One of the places that epitomises Helmholtz-Platz and the Helmholtzkiez. Think mint tea and matcha latte, as well as classic favourites such as coffee and cake, in laid back (sometimes very laid back) service on the outside sitting or inside the high-ceilinged but otherwise cosy interior. To the hip Berliner/in, this café delivers all that is expected, craved, and comforting. Children and dogs are welcome -- this is the heart of family-friendly Prenzlauer Berg after all, so don't expect this to be any different. No WiFi, since it is quintessentially German to prioritise face to face, eye to eye conversations, and if on your own, the German mindset considers printed books, newspapers and magazines far more suitable for relaxation.
