BioBackHaus — Restaurant in Berlin

One good thing about this place is their laugenstange and I also like the laugen croissants but other than that it’s pretty bad.

The sweet stuff doesn’t taste good at all. The doughnuts are always stale, no matter what time I go there. The cheesecake is horrible - grainy and sour, not creamy or decadent. Everything is too sweet and overpriced. The cappuccino is sooo bad. And the service is very rude and not friendly at all. I understand I’m a foreigner and my German is bad but I’m trying as they don’t speak English and get visibly annoyed when I say something in English. One woman even thought I was stupid or something and tried to scam me my charging me triple as expensive buns than I ordered.

I've been coming here since this branch of Bio Backhaus in Charlottenburg opened. Usually it's fine, in summer it's really nice to sit on their little terrace for a snack or a cake, all whole-wheat and organic. Today I was very disappointed about their handling of my complaint. Ordered an apple crumble, which I've tasted elsewhere at its best! THIS crumble had the consistency of a brick, apparently just defrosted. The waitress was friendly but only offered to heat it up in the microwave! It ended up being doughy. So altogether, after 2 bites tasting it, I left it on the plate. Talking to her again, her only solution was that I could write a bad review on the internet. Well, I did it now. OMG, where is good...

This place is extremely xenofobic! Me and my husband,tourists from Portugal, went there last tuesday for an afternoon snack. The attendee noticed that we were not german (since we were speaking in english) and asked us (and only us) to file a form for covid19 security measures. And she lied, once she told us that she was asking all the clients to file the form, but all of the other clients were german and she did not asked them anything. This was very rude and discriminatory, since Germany has the highest covid19 infection rate at this time and since we already have the 3rd dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
