It is a very cute, small shop located in a quiet street where you can enjoy the ambient of some of Berlin's finest architecture.

All kinds of pretzels from sweet to savory can be found here for reasonable prices (2€). Alongside is a coffee machine to mellow down the crisp and acidic flavour.

I had a classic pretzel with butter (they come in 2 sizes by the way in case you're hungry ot not!). The taste is really authentic and complex in comparison to store brought ones - you can immediately tell these are handcrafted.

The staff was super friendly as well, taking their time to explain about the store and the products in case you'd like to know more.

Walking through the door was my first inclination that the pretzels would not be good as the store did not smell like a bakery or even pretzels. The pretzel I got was not fresh. And it was rather tasteless. It was crunchy in some places which would make me think it's been out a long time. It was bland and had barely and salt. Tasted like bleached flour. The mustard on the other hand was lovely and the only thing that allowed me to swallow the dry, crusty pretzel. The staff itself was salty, unhelpful and quite curt. Das Café ist klein und verwinkelt, zu den Tischen im hinteren Bereich kommt man nur über einige Stufen. Die Einrichtung wirkt "shabby" und alternativ - wobei ich nicht zu urteilen vermag, ob die schmutzigen Wände Absicht oder Unvermögen geschuldet sind. Auf den Tischen (unserer leicht wackelig) stehen Teelicht-Laternen - nette Idee. Die Gäste sitzen teils bequem auf gepolsterten Bänken und Sofas. Es dudelt keine nervige Musik im Hintergrund - super!

Das Angebot rund um Laugengebäck füllt eine interessante Nische. Geschmacklich waren wir zufrieden, allerdings konnte ich keinen Unterschied zu "normalen" Brezeln aus der Bäckerei feststellen. Unser Service war freundlich, fiel aber leider durch: Trotz leeren Lokals dauerte die Zubereitung ewig und Getränke wurden nicht vorher gebracht (bei Kindern kühlt das die Gemüter...), Cola seit zwei Monaten abgelaufen (alle verfügbaren Flaschen - wie kann sowas denn passieren?!), die Ersatz-Bionade zum Bionadepreis abgerechnet, die zum Menü gehörende Butter vergessen, am Ende gabs Probleme mit der Rechnungserstellung - das wirkte alles ziemlich unprofessionell.

Für Kinder nicht unbedingt zu empfehlen: Für einen Kinderwagen ist das Ladenlokal zu klein und die Stufen stören, Hochstuhl und Wickelplatz gibts keinen.

Die Toilette ist winzig und hat Bahnhofscharakter.
