Burgermeister Zoo — Restaurant in Berlin

The burgers are good and it has got to have the hardest working kitchen staff I’ve ever seen. Still at peak hours it’s gonna take 20-30 minutes on a good day to get your food. It’s super disheartening to be 3rd in line and see 10 Uber eats orders go out before you get your food. The ticket counter should include ghost kitchen orders from online so the sense of progress makes sense. I have no problem being #32 in line and seeing 31 orders go out before mine. It’s frustrating to be #10 in line and count 40 some odd orders get completed and hauled off by Uber Eats drivers. It’s just a badly opaque system that could use some improvements. Still it’s a good burger, and the employees are going as fast as they can.

Edit: Adjusting my review down to 1 stars because this business fraudulently reported my original 3-star review for “violating Google content policies.”. There was nothing in my original post that would qualify as a violation.

Don’t eat here. It’s a dishonestly ran business, who fraudulently squashes negative reviews they find harmful to their image. How about instead of asking Google to censor bad reviews you actually focus on improving your business!...

After 1400+ reviews you might ask what one more can accomplish. My burger was good, but I'm here to report on the french fries: they're very salty. By that I mean relentlessly, hard-core salty. It was the first thing I noticed about them. If I needed to issue the fries a name, it would be Salty McSaltface. Three hours later at home I'm still thirsty and chugging water as if I had earlier dumped the contents of a salt shaker down my throat. If you're a tourist in Berlin and find yourself in a sodium deficiency emergency but are without health insurance coverage in Germany, don't go to the hospital: just get an order of fries at Burgermeister. OK, all kidding aside, I'm taking one star off simply because the otherwise tasty burger came out a bit bland, unnecessarily, next to the fries. I went during the weekend and it was very busy, but the wait still wasn’t too long. Staff was nice and welcoming. That being said, there is very limited seating and the “seats” they have are like a thick rail? So you can’t really sit there for more than a couple of minutes without pain. I got the veggie burger and fries, and they were SO good! On the other hand, I tried the mango sticky rice shake and would NOT suggest it!!! The mango flavor was amazing but they threw nasty grains of rice in it and the texture was so gross that I had to throw it away (and I never waste food like that). I was under the impression it was just the flavor of rice, maybe rice powder as a thickening agent, something like that. But it was like someone dumped a bowl of rice into my milkshake and it was atrocious. That all being said, I would 100% eat here again! Just not get that...
