Tucked away in the vibrant streets of Berlin, The Hat Bar exudes a chic and intimate ambiance, offering a sophisticated haven for cocktail aficionados and discerning patrons seeking an elevated nightlife experience. With its exquisite mixology, stylish decor, and inviting atmosphere, The Hat Bar stands as a must-visit destination for those looking to indulge in meticulously crafted cocktails and a memorable evening out in the heart of the city. Pros: Exemplary Mixology: The Hat Bar's expert mixologists skillfully concoct a diverse array of handcrafted cocktails, utilizing premium spirits, fresh ingredients, and innovative flavor combinations, ensuring that each drink is a masterful blend of sophistication and palate-pleasing delight. Intimate Ambiance: The bar's intimate and refined setting, adorned with stylish furnishings and subtle lighting, creates an alluring and inviting atmosphere that is perfect for enjoying a quiet evening with a special someone or unwinding with friends in a sophisticated and cozy environment. Attentive Service: The attentive and knowledgeable staff members provide impeccable service, offering insightful recommendations and personalized attention to ensure that each guest's experience at The Hat Bar is tailored to their preferences and preferences. Cons: Limited Seating: The Hat Bar's intimate setting might result in limited seating availability, especially during peak hours or on busier evenings. However, the exclusivity of the space contributes to the intimate and upscale ambiance that defines the bar's allure and charm. Higher Price Range: Given the bar's focus on premium mixology and elevated experiences, the prices for cocktails and beverages may be on the higher end. Nevertheless, the quality and craftsmanship of the drinks, along with the sophisticated ambiance, justify the premium experience offered at The Hat Bar. For an unforgettable evening at The Hat Bar, I recommend indulging in their signature cocktail creations, such as the bespoke Old Fashioned or the refreshing Moscow Mule, expertly prepared to tantalize the taste buds and elevate the evening's experience. Sit back, savor the ambiance, and enjoy the refined elegance that The Hat Bar brings to Berlin's nightlife scene, creating lasting memories in the heart of the city.

One of the overrated place for Jazz in my opinion. The music is something we need to sit back with drink and enjoy and this place is just the opposite of that . There no much room for people and we need to be early and order drinks . Despite ordering multiple cocktails after a point they asked us to make room for new people and get out of our seats . (Not sure of it was just a racist thing because I did not see him ask anyone else to move when they ordered lower value drinks than we did ) . To add to the uneasiness the free smoke area isn’t making the ambience enjoyable. The cocktails were mediocre at best not worth the pain to go through all this . But one thing I liked is the crowd is very friendly and nice . Oh also there is no food which means if you need to stay longer we need to spend at least 50 - 60 euros on cocktails just stay and listen to the very okayish Jazz which otherwise the magnet will ask you to move .

The bar opens on weekends at 7 pm, but the jazz doesn’t start until 9 pm. That being said, I would get there early because there is limited seating and it gets very crowded. There are only bar stools, no real chairs, so that might be something to keep in mind. Also, there is smoking allowed inside 🤢 So if you’re sensitive to smoke like I am, be aware! Entry is free but you are required to buy at least one drink or they will charge you 20 euro! They do thankfully have soft drinks and mocktails, so you don’t have to be a drinker to get something there, which is a plus. So it’s not a place to go if you just want to pop in for some jazz. But if you want to stay and have a drink, don’t mind thick smoke, and listen to jazz, I think you’ll like this place.

Review of the hat bar: A Great Musical Experience Ruined by Unacceptable Service

I visited the hat bar with my school class to enjoy an evening of great jazz music. While the music was absolutely fantastic, my experience was completely ruined by the unprofessional and downright rude behavior of a certain blonde waitress with a ponytail.

I had already received a drink, but it was ordered by a friend, so I hadn’t personally been to the bar. After being there for an hour, the bartender suddenly confronted me in an aggressive manner, insisting that I had to buy a drink every hour. I calmly explained that I had already had bought one, but she refused to listen and kept demanding that I purchase something.

Her behavior escalated quickly. Without warning, she grabbed my beer—which I had poured water into—and aggressively poured it out. Then she gave me four “options”: Buy a drink. Get the “gentleman” next to me to buy me a drink. Pay a €20 fine. Get kicked out.

The way she delivered this “service” was not just unprofessional but outright disrespectful. She spoke to me in an angry, condescending tone and approached me with hostility from the very start, without even trying to understand the situation.

As if that wasn’t enough, when I was finally forced to buy something, she gave me the wrong soda. And instead of admitting her mistake, she told me I needed to “speak louder,” as if it was somehow my fault.

I wasn’t the only one who experienced this. Four of us from my class were treated the same way—even though we were all behaving quietly and respectfully.

This interaction made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe, completely ruining my experience at The hat bar. I understand that rules are rules, and if there is a policy requiring guests to buy a drink every hour, it can easily be communicated in a polite and professional manner. Instead, I was met with aggression, threats, and disrespect.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and ensures their staff learns how to treat customers with basic decency. Until then, I cannot recommend visiting...
