I have been roaming around this corner for years and never imagined that behind those doors would be one of the best brunches I have ever tried. Some of our friends recommended it to us and I didn't have any expectations.
As soon as I entered, I was mesmerized by how beautifully decorated this restaurant was. We were shortly greeted by a very friendly waitress who made recommendations to us on what to pick from the menu. We got the shakshuka plate and it was better than most I tried in Berlin already. They also have scrumptious breakfasts for two which are served in a multi level tray, fancy! The shared breakfast has many items ranging from cheese slices and cold meat cuts to eggs and croissants, breads and jams as well as some fruit on top.
I decided to opt for their Souvlaki since I was hungry and it was past 1 pm already. One thing I didn't like was that I had to wait for my plate forever to the point that all my other friends had already finished their plates already. But I guess they make the souvlaki from scratch and for it to be cooked properly, it requires a lot of time in the oven. When I saw the plate, I was skeptic by the big chunks of meat, thinking that they won't be tender, but oh man I was wrong. First of all the portion was huge, the meat was soft and very juicy and is served with a big side of crispy salty fries. That's the best Souvlaki I have tried in Berlin hands down and who would have thought!
I am looking forward to visit the restaurant again and try different items...
Read moreOverall the food was good. However, there are few things for improvement: The price in the menu is not reflecting the final price paid. For borsch, there is a surcharge of 3 EUR, if it comes with meat. This was not explained to us in advance while ordering, nor stated anywhere in the menu. Menu says “borsch (vegan optional)”. However there is also non-vegan borsch without meat and non-vegan borsch with meat, which is not in the menu. Ukrainian style borsch comes with a plate of pork belly fat, however, it’s not really an authentic pork belly fat, but rather a ham. In addition, garlic was not served to us as it was stated in the menu. If you want additional spoon of sour cream, it also costs money. The waiters were nice, but they just neglected few things, which made the experience not very pleasant. And for that we would prefer not to tip much, but probably around 5%. When it came to payment, the minimum pre-adjusted tip amount was 10%. And it was not very intuitive on how to put another amount. To the request of putting another tipping amount, we were told that we could just do...
Read moreWe went around 18:50 Hours and the interior was dark , partially lit at the place where the table was occupied. No music no ambience it was not very inviting . We preferred to sit outside although it was windy and had some drinks and food. Although its energy saving but i dont like dark cafes without music. However at night around 21:00 the interiors were fully lit with music on and had a great cafe vibe although none of the inside tables were occupied. I asked for LIIT but they couldn't serve as coke was not available. I ordered for a burger and again they said only veg options are available and kitchen closes by 9pm , although online booking portals are accepting table reservations till 9 pm.
I liked the nutella crepe , siriniki and sashlik. The cocktails were nicely...
