Great experience was destroyed by the outrageous behavior of the waitress, who kept coming without any invitation trying to educate me about politics and telling me I am rude for using Russian language and asking her if maybe she can speak russian: she said no one here speak russian and that I am rude for asking… well, 2 minutes before we spoke russian with another waitress, colleague of her, as it would be easier because I was sitting with my ukrainian friend who dont speak english or german, and we asked before if its ok to speak russian so every one will understand and it would be easier and faster for the waitress, instead me translating all. This waitress kept on educating me about politics not knowing how deep I am involved in helping Ukrainians and judging me and when she started to imply that I support Russia I just couldn't not take it anymore and explain the situation and that my friend is Ukrainian herself… a refugee… who just wanted to eat in a restaurant peacefully, she fled the war while pregnant and now lives in Berlin as a single mom. This waitress was condescending, falsely righteous, and just plain rude. She continued to argue and told me I am rude because Even if we are Ukrainians, we are still rude because in a Georgian restaurant and nobody speaks Russian in a Georgian restaurant, really? I happen to be a chef myself and for the past 6 years conducting Georgian cooking workshops myself, I was speaking Russian many times with staff in various Georgian restaurants (Only when Russian is easier to communicate).I understand the heating debate around this subject, but all we did is asked and its possible, when she said no first time we didnt complain, but we also didnt accept this waitress to keep coming to out table and harassing us like this, she couldn't be more wrong with her accusations toward us and yet didnt not took responsibility when she was found wrong. The food was amazing and the other staff was very nice, and I always give a score based on how the food tasted regardless of service but this time it...
Read moreFood Quality: in general i would say very fresh ingredients, full of taste. If you are not familiar with Georgian cuisine, I would suggest the taster menu which provides a mix of smaller dishes but more variety so you can experience more options and not getting stuck with only one.
Portions: quantity of food is very very good. Between the actual meals and the different breads, you will be satisfied for sure. The Taster menu will provide with a mix of 4 starters, 3 main dishes, and 3 desserts. This will give a nice overview of the menu and Georgian food.
Drinks: a nice selection of Georgian wines to go with the food.
Price: $$$ of course depends if you will take wine or not, but even without wine, it will not be very cheap.
Service: staff is very friendly. They will explain also every dish for each course, especially while having the taster menu.
Atmosphere: i felt very tight and compressed inside. The smaller tables seem a bit small and squeezed in between some other tables. This for me was a big negative.
Highlights: the taster menus are an amazing way to order different dishes without missing out on tasting more from the menu.
Things to improve: ventilation of the restaurant and not squeezing that many tables inside. Felt like there was a lack of air and couldnt move without hitting the table next to me. Almost was 3 stars, but service and food deserved more...
Read moreGreat lovely atmosphere restaurant (love the table clothes). Ate very well and sufficiently. Extremely surprised by how good a mushroom soup can be (lovely with the tarragon touch), so go for it if you are a mushroom lover like me. Kachapuri was excellent and not oily at all, so not too heavy and they also have a baby size (for children but they don’t make a fuss if you order it as a grown up!) if you want to try other dishes. Aubergines rolls were big, very good and overall just perfect. I appreciated that the khinkhali were fried and not steamed (also the portion is quite filling! 4 are served and they’re also quite big. The meat filling is plenty and super tasty.). Many stews on the menu, a couple of them are veggie friendly but mostly meat. I had the one with lamb, potatoes, bell peppers and aubergine served with puri and salad. It’s a shame that with starters, they serve normal bread and not Georgian puri bread, the only disappointment but nothing too big — you can order puri for 3 euro. Staff is friendly and easygoing, yet attentive (went on a full Saturday evening). The pace of the service is perfect — they don’t throw dishes at you like the other place across the park, but not too slow either. I enjoyed it very much and I will definitely switch my Georgian restaurant of choice ;) this one is waaaay better. Oh and lovely tarragon...
