EDIT: the owner or the general manager (I’m so sorry I don’t remember as it was a very unexpected thing) called me personally few days after I left the review below, and recognised my loyalty to the business. He invited me for a complimentary dinner for me and a friend and sincerely apologised for the unpleasant episode that happened.
I really appreciate the gesture and knowing that they do care about their customers. I’m aware a bad night or understaffed night can happen in the hospitality business — I’ve been there.
A special heartfelt thank you too to the booking manager, Kristina, the kindest and most pleasant person you can interact with! She swiftly booked a table for me for the night I requested. Because of the massive amount of people and unavoidable noise, I will try to visit only on the first half of the week. :))
Thank you, Tsomi team! Can’t wait to visit, again! With gratitude. ——— I’m normally liking this place and visit at least once a month — I’m would say I’m a loyal regular. It’s always very busy and too loud for me, but the food is good and it has always been worth a visit up until what happened tonight (explanation follows).
When it comes to the table, it’s a matter of luck. Sometimes we had a table for 4 when in 2. The table for two is way toooooo small, it fits two dishes max, and they have the awful habit to bring all the dishes together, even when you clearly and politely ask to have some first (obviously the starters) and the main after (this happened not just tonight but regularly). Tonight we got a small table, I was just starting my soup (which was excellent by the way), when the main (thankfully a cold dish) came and there was no more space on our little table (we already had 4 dishes put like on a puzzle). The waitress put it on the table for 4 next to ours which was empty. Fair enough. Then, the very unpleasant accident happened: another waiter (a male with very short hair) came and gave the table next to ours to two people. I complained because I didn’t know where to put my main. I kindly asked to bring it back later. He replied ‘you’re not my table so not this is not my business, you gotta find the space for it.’ Excuse me sir, what?! Honestly unacceptable, rude and unprofessional. Had to rush to finish the soup to start the main.
Very unpleasant staff from time to time, probably not even well trained, looked like they had no idea what their job entails. I’m not sure I’ll be back even if the food is good. In summary too many table and therefore many too small to fit more clients (money eh!), loud environment, unpredictable staff (had very good and friendly waiters in the past but the service had been declining incredibly fast), tonight episode made me change my mind about this place and honestly left me speechless. In addition, while it’s always busy, they also do delivery, which contributes to the general mess. Do less but do it better. Might starting going to the other Georgian on the opposite side of the square.
I’m honestly shocked by the waiter’s answer which I found really shocking for someone who works with the public who also pays (not even little, the restaurant is on the expensive side). I’m so sorry, I don’t want to sound rough and attacking, but it was unacceptable. I hope management understands and takes action. My...
Read moreI usually don’t write reviews but I think if I don’t highlight a terrible experience then the restaurant will keep treating people the way they did today. So the staff was unwelcoming from the very beginning. We had a stroller with us and our baby was sleeping in it. We told them that we wanted to sit outside. They chose a table for us next to the aisle but they didn’t want us to keep the stroller next to the aisle. “If you keep the stroller outside then I’ll kick it” said the waiter. I want to believe that he meant that he might accidentally “trip” on it and this was a translation issue. So we were asked to stuff the stroller on the inside between tables. It was already very hard to rock it as there was hardly any room for it. Then midway through our meal a group of 8 people came and they made them sit next to our table and of course there wasn’t enough space for them to pull their chairs because of the stroller. Then another waiter asked me to move the stoller behind my chair. He could see that I was rocking it. I told him that I won’t be able to rock it then. He shrugged his shoulders and said “yeah but”. It was clear that the staff couldn’t care less that we were uncomfortable. Let alone enjoying their so called Georgean food(not sure what hummas was doing in two out of three items we ordered). We immediately decided to pay and leave. It was a complete waste of 72 euros and a Saturday afternoon. My baby is new to this world and this was basically the first time someone was unkind to him. Extremely disappointed...
