DI Russillo — Restaurant in Berlin

We needed to book a table for a large group (20) on short notice and they could provide this at their restaurant in Europe City. We ordered and some ordered starters and main. So, they came out with starters and main at the same time and some of us did not finish their pasta because they were cold by the time you finished the starter. They also did not know who ordered what, so there was a lot of shouting over the table of 20. There was no side plate for bread etc. but olive oil and salt for some mediocre white bread. The food was eatable and possibly of OK quality for the price. This is a pizza place with attached ice cream parlor and the ice cream is much better and of higher quality than the food. The worst was the waitress, who demanded that we needed to pay all together, but was giving us a favor by splitting the bill into two. But we needed to go to the cash register to go through the items. Once it was my turn to pay the rest, she presented the credit card terminal and I chose 'no tip' instead of the default 10%. One has to know that it is not standard to give tips in Germany as the base salary is high enough. So, you only give tips if the service/food was very good. The waitress went mental: shouting at me, throwing her pen down to the desk, claiming it was a lot of work/service (well, 20 people paid!). When I was back at the table, she came screaming into the room with all guests saying there was a mistake and I had to pay am additional rest. That turned out to be her fault as she just presented the first bill my sister paid to me again, and on my half there was a higher bill to pay. So, she claimed I changed the bill by selecting 'no bill'... How ridiculous! The boss had to come in to stop insulting the guests. I hope you get another waitress when...

Along with our friends we spent 3 nights in Berlin mid Sept 2024. Our hotel suggested Di Russillo and they did not disappoint. From the minute we walked in we were treated like family!! Mario made us feel so special. The food was amazing with fresh ingredients(at very decent prices I might add). It was quick hot and delicious along with a great atmosphere on the river we also dined on their patio. We liked it so much we returned the 2nd night. It's hidden gem!! I previously left a positive review, but unfortunately, my recent experience was very disappointing. After a long wait, the food finally arrived, but it lacked quality and wasn’t tasty at all. The pesto pasta was completely bland and had no salt — and strangely, there wasn’t even a salt shaker on the table or anywhere nearby. There was also an unpleasant smell coming from the kitchen.
