It's now going onto 4 months and I've not heard from Chicago. They simply refuse to acknowledge that reviews are crucial to a business these days and should in all seriousness be dealt with. I have had 8000 people visiting and reading my reviews. A potential pool of people who like to read mainly the negative reviews. The longer this review stays visible, the more as a business you have to lose. Wake up and smell the coffee and adjust to the times we live in. This particular review has been seen so far by 455 people, who I have no doubt thought twice about eating in Chicago, or have not eaten there because of the review. These people in turn have told on average a minimum 5 people each about the experience I have described. You do the numbers.
THE REVIEW Tried to have a meal at Chicago yesterday 3rd January 2019 at 22.15 We arrived there at the said time only to be told that they are closed, because they had no customers. There was 1 table eating. Their website states that their opening time is till 23.00 hrs. It seems that the rot, that happens to many established businesses/restaurants has set it. Either you are open till the time you're stating on your website and commit yourself to those hours or get treated like the rest of some really shameful restaurants in Berlin. On top of it, it was my partners birthday. There we were left standing in the street unsure of where to go. My partner works in a Hotel very near by and regularly recommends Chicago. This will change. We went to Baba Pirzola a Turkish restaurant just across the street on Bayreutherstr. where we were welcomed with open arms, the same way we were greeted by Chicago some months earlier. I will leave a detailed review about Baba Pirzola on their website.
A month later and no reply from Chicago. Could it be that they don't care?
3 months later and still no respond...
Read moreWe ordered just two steaks and fries. It's hard to believe, but it took them one hour and twenty minutes! That's the craziest wait we've ever had. After about an hour, we asked to talk to the manager to find out why it was taking so long. The manager said he would take care of it himself, but it still took another twenty minutes. We only got our food at 9:44 PM after we told the waiter we would leave at 9:45 PM if we didn't get it. They gave us two free beers and two espressos because of the wait. This made us feel a little better, but still... When we got the bill, there were many mistakes and things we didn't order. We had to fix the bill three times before it was correct. So, the place looks great, but the service was really bad. The food tasted very good, but waiting so long and the mistakes on the bill were not good. While we were there, we saw waiters walking around with food, trying to find who ordered it. Someone really needs to manage this place better. We also talked to the manager, and he doesn't speak English at all. For a place with many tourists, this doesn't make sense. So, this place has a lot of potential, but they...
Read moreDinner for 4. After being presented their ‘finest’ aged tomahawk steak cut for 170euros, large enough for 4, still wrapped in vacuum sealed plastic, we ordered a bunch of sides and 2 bottles of a nice red wine. The steak was cut tableside and I noticed that at least half of it was inedible due to the large amount of fat. So two people ate, and two people went hungry. When I pointed out the poor quality of cut and the fact there wasn’t enough steak for more than 2 people, I was met with indifference. Not a professional steakhouse. They receive meat in a plastic bag, grill it, and serve. They have no idea about the quality they are serving. Positive note: the salad and sides were good. My advice is to inspect the meat beforehand without the wrapping or ask the waiter to ensure you get a...
