Golden Rice Kudamm — Restaurant in Berlin

I cannot recommend this place at all. We checked out the menu from the outside and I saw that they had a lot of gluten free options (or so I thought) since they didn’t have the “a” allergen listen anywhere but other allergens were listed there. I got the “Sot Lac” with baked chicken. This option had only the “b” allergen listed and my boyfriend got the “flying Singapore” with baked chicken this also had only the “b” allergen. They brought out two almost identical food except I had rice and my boyfriend had noodles. When I saw the chicken I panicked since I had a feeling that it was not gluten free. I asked the staff if there’s flour in there and they said yes. I told them that it wasn’t listed there and that I am allergic so they brought the food back to the kitchen, took of the chicken and brought it out with boiled chicken instead. Of course it was the same food so it was already contaminated. I didn’t want to cause any more problems so I just ate it that way. The sauce was very watery, there was fresh salad in there and the meat was dry and cold. The toilets were super smelly and there was leftover shit on the cleaning brush. Overall experience 2/5. Money spent all together with on beer and one tea = 43 euro....

We were the first guests in the restaurant and decided to give it a try anyway. Our orders were taken quickly, which was a positive start. Unfortunately, the women’s bathroom wasn’t clean and had an unpleasant smell, even though we were the only ones there at the time.

When the food arrived, one of the dishes was wrong. Since we were seated behind a column and couldn’t see the staff, we decided to wait until someone came to check on us. However, no one returned to our table, even after other guests arrived, and our attempts to get the staff’s attention went unnoticed.

At the end, we went to the front desk to pay and returned the incorrect dish, explaining the mistake. Instead of acknowledging it, the waiter became angry and repeatedly insisted that we had given him the wrong meal number. This was definitely not the case, as I’m vegetarian and would never have ordered that dish. Still, he blamed us and became increasingly rude. Eventually, he removed the meal from the bill but added, “Next time I won’t.”

Don’t bother with this restaurant. Very rude service. I had my doubts from the beginning about this restaurant. Despite speaking fluent German the waiters didn‘t respond to my German at all. Food was ok. Nothing to shout about. We decided to pay separately and their payment machine kept having internet issues meaning my payment didn’t come through on their machine but came out of my bank account but due to roaming issues my payment didn’t display on my account transactions.. All other friends paid but my food „remained“ unpaid. I checked my account obviously but it didn’t display as paid so I paid again. When I came back to hotel two transactions displayed as paid. So I ended up paying twice for the same food. I spoke to others and they checked in front of me that the payment went out of their bank accounts. Went back to restaurant showed them proof of 2 payments but they didn’t care. They send me back to speak to my friends. Feel really robbed! Terrible experience to end...
