Roji restaurant in Berlin is a true gem that has elevated my sushi experience to unprecedented heights. In a culinary landscape crowded with sushi establishments, Roji stands out as a beacon of excellence, offering a gastronomic journey that transcends the ordinary.
What sets Roji apart is not merely the freshness of their ingredients, but the meticulous artistry with which they craft each sushi masterpiece. The chefs at Roji have seamlessly blended traditional Japanese techniques with avant-garde creativity, resulting in a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. From the first bite, it became evident that I had stumbled upon a culinary haven, where passion and precision converge to redefine the very essence of sushi.
The concept at Roji goes beyond the conventional; it is a celebration of innovation while honoring the roots of Japanese culinary art. Picture this – a delicate balance of textures and tastes, where the umami of perfectly seasoned rice harmonizes with the freshness of top-grade fish, and each roll is a work of edible art. The menu unfolds like a story, introducing unexpected yet delightful flavor combinations that keep diners on the edge of culinary anticipation.
As I navigated through their extensive selection, it became apparent that Roji's commitment to quality extends beyond the fish. Every ingredient, from the seaweed to the soy sauce, is carefully curated to ensure a holistic and immersive dining experience. The attention to detail is not confined to the kitchen; the ambiance reflects a minimalist aesthetic that complements the sophistication of the cuisine, creating an environment where the focus is undeniably on the culinary journey.

Read moreOne of the best Sushi restaurants in the area!!
Service: very close to fantastic. All staff are competent, friendly, polite and helpful. On a few occasions the waiters have gone out of their way to be helpful and accommodating to special requests for smaller children.
Prep time: most often the food is prepared really fast. The restaurant can be extremely busy at peek times, so take that into consideration when placing order or planning a visit.
Ambience: very authentic and well decorated restaurant. A lot of thought and effort has gone in to make the place look both modern as well as traditional, with a hint of artistic craziness. Upstairs is more for smaller groups and downstairs has seating for much larger groups.
Food: The selection is impressively large, which always causes us some concern, but almost everything we've tried has been well prepared with fresh ingredients and very tasty. The creative selection are very interesting and an exciting adventure for the taste buds. The Sashimi selection is very good and highly recommended. When taking away, I suggest double checking as special requests can sometimes be missed out.
One small criticism is that on take away, far too much plastic is used, which is disappointing, however not enough to lose a star. Perhaps the management can look at more environmentally friendly packaging...
Read moreLet me talk about the food first which was top👌👌👌. The different Sushi that we tried were very fresh and excellent. All of them distinct and exceptionally good. The crispy ones were very crispy on the outside and not overcooked. The Nigiri were all very fresh some of them were a pleasure to just feel them melt in your mouth as you chew. The drinks too were flavourful though I found them too expensive for the taste. Presentation-wise overall, outstanding.
The crew were very welcoming from the start and excellent service was offered throughout out entire stay. We reserved a seat at 18PM and the place was already full.
We were treated with a nice corner table under an artificial cherry tree which was perfect. More group seats are located on the lower floor with the same nice atmosphere as the place can be loud.
It was overall a very pleasant catch up dinner with friends. Prices tend to be slightly more expensive but you definitely get your money’s worth.
P.S. no card payment was available during our recent visit, so prepare cash or check with the...
