We went twice in two consecutive days. The first time we just had drinks. The Golden Time (mango, coconut, soy milk shake) for me and Vietnamese coffee for my partner. The shake (which is like a mango lassi) was pure pure heaven. I would go back 100 times just to order it to go. I really wanted to try the food, but I was not hungry enough. I was so excited we promptly returned the following day for lunch. I had a combination dish with the dumplings, soup, rice and curry with veggies and tofu. The presentation was really nice. My partner had the slightly sour rice noodle pho. The food was just not good enough, unfortunately. The rice on top was overcooked and the one in the bottom was hard. How is this possible? The dumplings were doughy and flavorless. The soups were meh. The curry was slightly better. And even though the server was nice enough, she spent most of her time behind the counter chatting with her coworker and doing something on her phone. My partner had to get up twice (and the place was nearly empty) to ask her to take our order and then to request the bill. I'm just going back for the mango heaven, to go. I am not sure why so many bad or mediocre vegan places (especially the Asian food ones) in Berlin are rated so highly and by a good amount of people....
Read moreVietnamese’s view on Vietnamese food: Horrible. Don’t order through take away service (at least). Boiled veggies in coconut milk, even though it’s not even a curry. No spice no herbs. The dish Cà Bung is a very specific, regional dish that needs attention to achieve certain taste. If you haven’t had it in Vietnam or made by a Vietnamese mom, please do yourself a favor not trying it, it’ll be just another generic curry. The other one is Bún Nem Chay, the fried rolls could have used a bit more filling. Again near to none of essential asian greens. Nothing special with bland rice noodles. Even with authenticity disregard, it’s not even good as a dish. But more importantly, we requested clearly “NO PEANUTS. SOMEONE WITH BAD ALLERGIES”, still the dessert was piled up with peanuts. You can argue for the necessity of peanut in this dessert but then you are too lazy to be creative. Sesame seeds work too for example. Please do research on traditional Vietnamese food first before claiming your...
Read moreUnpleasant staff!!! I've been to this place more than 5 times now. We bring friends every time and have really given it a chance. Yesterday the waitress jumped up as we were about to leave after paying with a card, saying the tip is not included in the bill! I have worked a service job in Berlin myself, so don't get me wrong. The wage for a waiter is high enough by law, so you can survive without a tip. Tip is not obligatory in Berlin, you leave it if you were happy with your food AND service. In this restaurant you always have to call the girl to come and take your order or just stand up and go to the counter yourself, she would often go away before you've finished saying what you want, then you have to . What kind of tip are you talking about? The food is ok. I like the coconut soup, but everything else isn't standing out from other...
