Leute... wirklich absolutes No Go!

Ok food for the 15 euro buffet, staff and management very unfriendly. I live on the same block, but had several times very unprofessional staff, asking constantly to move tables in order to fit as much as possible people, hence as much as possible money. Very in-polite against non-german looking people. Seems like you need blonde hair to be treated as anyone else. First incident: I had the nerve to sit on a table for 6 for 50 min. (9:25 - 10:05), waiting for the rest of my friends. I was told that these are not "the Rules" of the place and this is not how it goes and I'm not allowed to do that. Second time I had the nerve to ask how much I should wait for the table and a bartender/waiter responded to me "do I look like a magician to you?"

The Butter Cafe is a great option to have bruch or breakfast. They serve a vast amount of dishes for a delicious brunch till 12:30 on the weekends. Since the place has plenty of seats it is not always that difficult to find a table. Service is fast and very friendly. The place is very beautiful! In summer you can sit outside and enjoy the great atmosphere of Prenzlauer Berg. For breakfast I tried the shakshuka, which was very tasty! You get it with some delicious bread. I can also recommend trying the pancakes as well as the lemonades. All very tasty! What I also loved about this place were the toilets! They were so beautiful! When visiting them you will know what I’m talking about. Would love to be back here any time!

We visited as a family on a Saturday morning.

I understand why this place is popular, good location and the restaurant itself is stunning. The decor inside was very nice. The food was mediocre and outdated - nothing compared to other nearby places! In prenzlauer berg, we have high expectations for brunch. In Berlin, you expect to have a selection of bread but we were given white bread rolls only. But the reason I have given such a poor rating is the staff! The Saturday morning staff was not on their best that morning, from the moment we ordered to the moment we left. They seemed annoyed of having us and when we dared to ask if they have vollkorn bread, the waitress actually rolled her eyes!! We noticed the other customers also received the same treatment. As we were looking at each other.

To the management of this restaurant, please review your Saturday morning staff and train them on a simple smile.

There are much better brunch places to visit nearby. 2* given only for the well presented restaurant and not the food/service. If you want somewhere to take a nice picture with nice interiors but not at all interested in decent eggs, then this...

This is probably one of the less usual types of review I'll ever write. I went to Butter with a group of friends arriving sadly too late for food. Two members of the group bought food from across the road and joined at the table. The waitress asked them not to bring food from elsewhere to eat on their premises. Some of you may see this as a negative, but I think it's fair enough. Sadly a couple of the people in the group decided to become verbally aggressive and slightly abusive to the young blonde lady serving us. Rather than fighting back she remained polite the whole way through and did a wonderful job. I am sorry to have been associated with people who acted the way they did that night. I have previously worked in the bar industry for a long time and I have to say that the lady at Butter Café is someone I would be proud of were I the manager there. It is for this reason I will return and, in spite of having to follow the group to leave so soon, I am more than happy to rate this place and its staff as highly as I can. If you're going there, don't take things for granted and don't be rude to staff. They...

Breakfast review. The different types of breakfast you can get here in the weekdays are quite good. Eggs made just right, pancakes good texture, lovely müsli. Overall tasty. The reason I am only giving three stars is the weekend brunch buffet. You can't get regular breakfast, fair enough. But the quality drops very low with the buffet. Bland choice of cheese and ham, was also put off of their dessert puddings. The waffles, sausages and meatballs seemed like they came from the freezer. The two other problems were the unsanitary environment, letting the kids have their hands all over the utensils and the damn food. Even adults. The buffet is upstairs slighty out of sight, but that is just too disgusting. Last problem I had was the fact they don't take the most known credit cards, cash only. Seems a regular problem with many places in Berlin.

No problem with the staff, they were nice and had no issue speaking english. (Or try to)

For a good time here, come in weekdays...
