Kabuki Berlin — Restaurant in Berlin

My boyfriend and I visited this place, and unfortunately, it wasn’t a positive experience. He ordered the Japanese curry with chicken katsu, and it was noticeably raw inside. Since he doesn’t speak German, I went to let the staff know and asked if they could please redo it. The response was disappointing—rather than apologizing or immediately offering to correct the mistake, the staff member looked at me as if I was being unreasonable and said they’d “redo a part of the rawness.”

I explained that since the sauce and other elements had touched the raw chicken, it would be best to remake the entire dish for food safety reasons. Instead of acknowledging the issue, she started explaining how the katsu is “slow-cooked, then fried”—information that didn’t help with the problem we were facing. Only after I asked for the plate back to take a photo did she finally agree to redo it.

For a meal that cost 22 Euros, we expected properly cooked food and a basic level of customer service. It wasn’t about the mistake, but rather her attitude and unwillingness to acknowledge it. A simple apology and assurance they’d make it right would have gone a long way. Sadly, we left feeling disappointed and...

If I could, I’d give 10 stars for the incredibly delicious food at Kabuki. From now on, we’ll always come here whenever we’re in Berlin.

We sat at the counter and were able to watch the food being prepared, which added to the experience. The staff were truly kind and friendly. The food took a little while, but that only emphasized the quality—it was absolutely worth the wait. We had the Okonomiyaki with prawns, which was incredibly tasty, and the omelette with thinly sliced steak and rice. The steak was grilled to perfection, and the sauces were beautifully balanced.

Im Manifesto Food Court gibt es so einige Restaurants die gut was zu bieten haben. Das Kabuki sticht dabei aber meiner Meinung nach hervor. Während die Atmosphäre zwar eindeutig von den umgebenden anderen Restaurants und der Food Court Einrichtung beeinflusst wird, wirkt das Kabuki genau wie das gegenüberliegende Soot etwas gehobener. Die Küche sieht ordentlich aus, und es macht Spaß, den ein oder anderen Blick auf das Procedere zu werfen, wenn das eigene Essen zubereitet wird. Ich habe einen Beef-Okonomiyaki gegessen, der fantastisch aussah und auch genauso schmeckte. Für 16 Euro bin ich komplett satt geworden und war rundum glücklich. Auch bietet das Kabuki eine Weinkarte, sowie andere fantastische Gerichte. Beim Service musste ich leider einen Stern abziehen. Die Fachkraft mit der ich sprach war komplett professionell, sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Mir wurde bereits vor meiner Bestellung gesagt ich müsste circa 15 Minuten warten, was auch so stimmte. Das einzige Manko ist, dass es keinen Alarm wie bei den anderen Restaurants gibt, der andeutet wann das Essen fertig ist. Ich weiß nicht ob das eine Ausnahme an diesem Tag war, oder ob das immer so ist. Aber da sich der Food Court über zwei Etagen erstreckt, empfand ich es als minimal störend, permanent auf die Zeit achten zu müssen, um mein Essen rechtzeitig abzuholen. Dies ändert aber dennoch nichts daran, dass meine Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant insgesamt herausragend war, daher bleibe ich bei den gesamten 5 Sternen. Ich komme bei Gelegenheit...
