New vegan restaurant alert! After Kamala Vegan put their sign up over their door, I was excited to give this place a try. This past weekend my partner & I made it to this very inviting eatery to try out the menu. We were seated quickly & given menus, which had a sprawling amount of options available. We were hungry so we decided on the won-ton soup, an order of the spring rolls & for entrees, the Sa Cha Beef Stir Fry & the tofu stew. We remarked amongst ourselves about how aesthetically pleasing the interior decor looked & were excited to get our meal started. Ten minutes after sitting down, we had our drinks. Thirty minutes after being seated we had our spring roll appetizers. Fifty three minutes after being seated we finally got our entrees - taking an hour to serve stir fry entrees to customers on Friday night go-time is a waitstaff & kitchen failure. The won ton soup never arrived, one of our entrees sat in front of another customer on the waitstaff’s mistake for about 5 minutes & brought over to our table, the portions were small for the price & the waitstaff looked stressed & not in control of the front of house. We finished our food, which we both agreed was VERY GOOD - even by USA / Chinese-American vegan standards (we have some great Buddhist-vegan establishments in the USA in every Chinatown) & had it not been for the very lengthy wait & neglecting to bring out our full order, we would have appreciated a ton more. I work front of house as a server & can empathize with restaurants & bars who get tangled in the weeds on a busy night, but after trying to flag down the waiters & hosts to inquire about the missing soup & maybe ordering dessert, we relinquished efforts. I walked up to the serving area to close out our tab / make sure we weren’t charged for missing items. Kamala is new, so hopefully after hashing out some systemic issues they’re able to deliver their great food to fellow vegans of Berlin. First impressions, however, are very important & it is disappointing to see a restaurant where such attention to detail of its interior decor & aesthetics aren’t matching the quality of service...

Went there with my wife after seeing the good reviews. It was a Wednesday early evening, not too busy, and service was fast.

Unfortunately, the food was a huge disappointment. We ordered dishes 24 and 25, and both were soaked in oil, specially the one with aubergine. You could literally see the sauce separating into layers of oil. One of the dishes (a purée) was the worst: extremely strong vinegar taste that made it almost impossible to eat. My wife had two tiny spoons, the second just to be polite, and I only managed a tiny bite. The vinegar aftertaste stuck with us for hours.

We made an effort to eat some of the aubergine but couldn’t finish the dish. When the waitress asked if everything was okay, we said honestly that we didn’t like the food, especially the pure, which was still almost untouched. She didn’t really respond (maybe she didn't understand German) and just brought the bill.

The prices are very high. We ordered two of the more "affordable" items on the menu, but we were left wondering if the more expensive options would have been any better or just more costly disappointments.

We wouldn’t recommend this place. Food-wise this was a 1 star, but I give it two because they place looks nice and the service wast fast. Unfortunately, one of the worst meals we’ve...

We did a tea ceremony with Minh/Ming (sorry I am unsure about the spelling) and it has been great! This is the perfect thing to slow down our rushed daily lifes. It felt like a meditation. Thanks to the guidance of Minh/Ming a cozy, relaxed and very warm vibe accompanied us through the ceremony. She is knowledgeable and calm. It has been a pleasure. We participted as a group and it was fun!

We got hungry during the ceremony and where able to order inbetween. The food is outstanding and I doubt a meat-eater would notice that it's vegan.

Highly recommended for the tea ceremony and the food - if you come as a single person, a couple or a group - you'll be happy that you choose Kamala Vegan!

Thank you and...
