MarcAnn's — Restaurant in Berlin

I have been visiting MarcAnn's regularly because it’s not far from my hairdresser where I get my monthly haircuts around 10am. MarcAnn's is convenient due to its location, but overall, it’s just okay—nothing special. I have mixed feelings because, while the sandwiches were initially a nice perk, their quality has noticeably declined. It’s evident that the sandwiches are stored in the fridge for several days rather than being made fresh daily, which is disappointing.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that the staff seem unhappy and overworked, which affects the overall atmosphere. The management's attitude could be more customer-friendly, as their interactions often come across as dismissive. As a regular customer, it's difficult to appreciate a place when you don't feel valued and respected.

For these reasons, I can only give MarcAnn's 2 stars. While the convenience is a plus, the declining quality of the food and the less-than-welcoming environment make it hard...

Would not even give one star if I could! Stopped in this morning to get a sandwich to go (I have come here quite often to pick something up on my way to work) and yes, it is often the workers have no sense of urgency and even trouble understanding what I order even though I order it perfectly in both German and English. But today was really DISGUSTING! I ordered a pretzel sandwich from the man and even pointed to the one in the case- took him three tries to figure it out and then he YELLED AT ME “why didn’t you say something, you have to say!” I asked if he was serious because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe it was bad sarcasm and his response was to tell me to “F*uck off! Welcome to Berlin” and then PHYSICALLY chased me out the door. I almost called the police! I don’t usually post reviews but this was an incredibly disturbing experience!!!! Don’t go there, don’t take your children there and if the man is serving you...

I've eaten hundreds of scones and I really don't know exactly how to define what one is. A good one. Tried a fruity one here today and wow - no exaggeration, the best I've ever eaten. It was flatter than the craggly boulders I am used to, and softer perhaps than the crunchy exterior bake you might expect. But the taste was marvellous - a generous melange of fruit and doughiness neither too sweet nor dry as a barren loch. I am a bit shocked by the experience so I must go again.. and...
