This place is awesome. It is near on a metro train,.... I like this good place to stay for a while and feel the good views... Sometimes there's a live band there and the BERLIN wall has a lot of good art paintings and drawings youll see.. Its amazing... I also recommend to Try their popular street foods which is like brown hotdog with fries, it is near to this berlin wall area, i forgot the name of the store, but it is just in front of a restaurant, i saw this when i need to pee... if you are able to go to a Toilet you will find it... lol..this is One of their popular street foods that you should never missed.. 😊 I HOPE MY REVIEWS HELP YOU. Visiting the Berlin Wall which divided the East from the West was a surreal experience. I've always been interested in WWII history so having the opportunity to see the Berlin Wall was a once in a lifetime history lesson for me. I liked being able to hear the oral history exhibit and seeing pictures of people who died trying to leave East Berlin. The other great thing about this tourist attraction is that it is Free and open to the public. Was a bit sad after leaving but glad I got to see a bit of history.

great to see the Iron Curtain. Honestly a sad and miserable feeling came over me. After the war ended...its hard to believe that Germany was carved up and seperated into East and West having different ideologies. Socialism on one side with Russian influence... and more liberal Democracy on the other by Allies. Anyway, another item ticked off my bucket list.

Ein Stück Geschichte die unter der Haut geht ... Die Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer ist der zentrale Erinnerungsort an die deutsche Teilung, gelegen im Zentrum der Hauptstadt. Am historischen Ort in der Bernauer Straße erstreckt sie sich auf 1,4 km Länge über den ehemaligen Grenzstreifen. Auf dem Areal der Gedenkstätte befindet sich das letzte Stück der Berliner Mauer, das in seiner Tiefenstaffelung erhalten geblieben ist und einen Eindruck vom Aufbau der Grenzanlagen zum Ende der 1980er Jahre vermittelt. Anhand der weiteren Reste und Spuren der Grenzsperren sowie der dramatischen Ereignisse an diesem Ort wird exemplarisch die Geschichte der Teilung nachvollziehbar. Die Gedenkstätte ist Teil der Stiftung Berliner Mauer, zu der auch die Erinnerungsstätte Notaufnahmelager Marienfelde, die Gedenkstätte Günter Litfin und die East Side Gallery gehören.

Anlaufstelle für die Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer oder wie es von dem DDR Regime genannt wurde der "imperialistische Schutzwall" der die DDR Bürger vor den Imperialisten und Kapitalisten schützen sollte. Im Zentrum ist auch neben Informationen und Führungsmöglichkeiten ein kleiner Shop enthalten. Gegenüber des Zentrums auf der anderen Straßenseite beginnt die Gedenkstätte mit Teilen der Mauer, Absperrungen und Informationstafeln in Bild, Ton und auch Video. Hier erfährt man die Geschichte des Baus der Mauer vom Anfang bis Ende. Auch das während des Baus umgesiedelt wurde seitens der DDR, Gebäude abgerissen wurden und über die Todesfälle die durch die Mauer und ihre Schutzeinrichtungen selbst oder Grenzsoldaten zum Opfer wurde. Ein Muss für jeden Berlinbesucher.
