Update 5: The owner tried to delete my review!!!???!!
The food was really good, but the place is small and the service was not the best, after ordering food and drinks we ate fast, and we wanted to order dessert and tea they told us, they have many customers waiting so they can’t serve us anything more even we didn’t stay inside the restaurant more than 40 mins which is wird , specially other customers which came before us they were still eating, so even the food was good I’ll not come back , Update (1) I can’t reply to your reply so I’m editing my review again, first of all you didn’t inform us that we need to leave when the other customers come, you didn’t give us the choice even, if you did for sure I would not write such review, also there was many without reservation. another thing what we should be grateful for !!! That u told us we need to leave, btw We are a customers too and we are pay for the food and services even, regarding speaking in Persian language with my husband, I thought it’s a Persian restaurant and this normal !!!! so I’m the one here is disappointed even from the way you replied, it’s like, i should be grateful that you let me came in your restaurant, as like you giving your service for free, I think u made it worth with this reply. So l think I was right about my review
Update (2): It’s seems you aren’t taking the review in a professional way neither in a decent way by attacking in personal and emotional way and having aggression, you need to know what google reviews created for!? , and I have the right to say my opinion and review about anyplace I go and share my experience with google users without getting attacked by service provider, even he/she likes it or not. About my husband generosity this how we are in general, btw he was disappointed and apologized from his side to me, if cannot accept anymore customers you supposed to just tell us it would be easier. Again you have no right to tell any customer you had what he/she should writes and what he/ she not writes. And thanks for confirming what kind of attitude you have.
Update (3):
What kind of personal issue I would have with you or with your restaurant even!!! This was the first time in your place ?! And why I’ll come to your restaurant if I have a problem with it!!! Even i mentioned in the beginning (the first thing )the food was really good, but I think you are not accepting different opinions!!!! btw google reviews is for positive and negative reviews, not for good only Omg I still can’t believe your replies!!! What kind of favor you did for us!!! Letting a customers get in your restaurant is a favor?! Exactly what happened we waited in front of the entrance some time till you came and talked with us after u asked if we have a reservation I told u no, you told us to wait till having a free table, even after us two ladies came and you gave table before us because they have reservation, they got a proper table, which is ok, Also u didn’t mention at all we need to leave when someone has reservation come. Even you asked us to move to another chair, we moved and we were flexible. Btw what you call it first class service maybe it’s not first class for others, so This is relative from person to person . Instead of accepting the feedback or ignoring it, you are here threatening and telling me (rude and disrespectful and arrogant) because I only wrote my opinion which is my right even if you don’t agree with it. Again writing something you will like it’s not my job.
Update (4):
If you are considering my opinion and my experience in your restaurant is a false claim, so this is a different case and go forward👌, I’ll not arguing with you anymore already I said everything and everything was mentioned, considering it or not, it’s not my job, it doesn’t...
Read moreRating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) I’m writing this review to help set realistic expectations for others and in the hope that it encourages the restaurant to improve.
I had two important guests with me and even visited the day before to inform the staff and ensure we’d have a good experience. Unfortunately, the overall attitude and quality were far from acceptable.
Before arriving, I called 30 minutes ahead to let them know we might be 5–10 minutes late. Instead of a polite response, I was met with a rude remark: “I won’t promise anything”, followed by a complaint about “another late Persian customer.” This was my first visit, so the comment felt inappropriate and unfair.
Upon arrival, we were told rather bluntly that the staff don’t come to the table and that we had to scan a QR code to order online. The code didn’t even work, and the tone used was disrespectful—especially given I had guests with me.
When the food arrived, it wasn’t served to the guests first, which is basic dining etiquette. When I tried to hand a plate to one of my guests, the waiter snapped at me: “Don’t get into my job. I know what I’m doing.”
The food itself was tasteless and of low quality. One of my guests runs a high-end restaurant and noticed the poor quality of the ingredients immediately.
No proper Persian desserts were available—just basic ice cream. When we ordered coffee, one of the cups had a chip right at the rim, which was dangerous and unacceptable.
The ventilation was poor—after a short time, our clothes smelled heavily of food, which lingered long after we left.
Finally, when we exited the restaurant, no one acknowledged us. Not a single thank you, goodbye, or friendly gesture. It left a cold, unwelcoming impression.
For sure didn’t worth the money I paid.
I had initially thought of giving 2 stars, but considering the consistent lack of hospitality and food quality, I’ve changed my mind. This experience deserved no more than 1 star. Sadly, I won’t be coming back, and I don’t recommend this restaurant—especially if you’re trying Persian cuisine for...
Read moreWe visited Meet Me Halfway on our first night in Berlin after 24+ hours of travel, hoping for a warm welcome and good food — and we got at least one of those.
Let’s start with the good: the food is really tasty. A wide selection of vegetarian and vegan options, well-sized portions, and a thoughtfully curated drink list. The ambiance is polished and pleasant, and the service is swift — we didn’t have to wait long for anything. So kudos to the kitchen and floor staff, who are clearly doing their job with care.
Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience left something to be desired. We had a reservation, and were given at a drafty table right by the entrance. When we politely asked for a different table (there were some free), the waiter responded with: "This is the table you’ve been given. I don’t understand why you want to change." For context: my mother is 70, we were visibly exhausted and freezing. While the waiter couldn’t have known our backstory, a little empathy goes a long way — and considering we were eventually moved, the brusque comment was not only unnecessary, but pointless.
The same waiter later advised me to “relax, just relax” when I asked if card payment was possible — an odd reaction to a perfectly normal question in a city where many places still don’t accept cards. He followed this with a quip about me working in the kitchen if I couldn’t pay — an attempt at humor, perhaps, but it landed awkwardly and felt patronizing rather than playful. There was also some repetitive mockery when I expressed enjoyment of the food, which frankly wore thin.
In sum: good food, nice space, but some of the service teeters between aloof and off-putting. If Meet Me Halfway wants to meet people all the way — especially tired, paying ones — a bit more warmth and professionalism from staff wouldn’t hurt. I fully expect a defensive reply to this review based on previous responses, but hey — taking feedback well is part of good...
