Saw them on the True Italian Pizza Street Festival and put them on the list, which is why I came here.
Solid but no outperformer.
It totally depends on the way you look at this. If you've never had sourdough or neapolitan style pizza before, I think you can appreciate this pizza a little more and may like or even love it. However, if you've tried a few places before then you'll get into the details and comparisons and it might not rank that high up on your favorite list.
I had the bufala and the result looks good on first glance. Not too many large burn blisters as the big ones sometimes really spoil the taste. Baked evenly, so it is a feast for the eyes. The bufala cheese tasted great but the rest is where this place looses a few points - in MY opinion. The dough was partially too thin and in combination with sauce, cheese and oil the center was too soggy then. If you eat it by hand your tip will flip... The sauce was okay but I was missing some more flavor of either basil or oregano. The crust is fluffy and well baked but lacked a tiny bit of salt.
I was a little disappointed as they neither had the iced coffee I would have liked to try or the tiramisu (or any other sweet dessert).
I'm not counting it towards the points but it is loud due to the tram outside and it is not really the place to stay too long and chill after you're done with your pizza or have a drink with your friends. So maybe more a place to grab and go or order but you need to decide all that...
Read moreYesterday, I went to the pizzeria during lunch and ordered the pizza of the day. The pizza of the day was cooked for more than half an hour. When it arrived, I was shocked. My eyes blurred, the smell pierced my nostrils—the pizza of the day was made of incomprehensible ingredients straight from the bodyhorror movie, and it was simply awful. It looked, tasted, and smelled terrible. I had the impression that they had taken so long to make the pizza of the day because they had thought long and hard about which disgusting thing to put in it.
On their menu, the pizza of the day is 15 euros. However, I was asked to pay 16. When I asked how this happened, I was told that the pizza of the day was 16 in their system, even though it was 15 on the menu. I have no idea if this is even legal, especially considering that I was not even given a receipt after paying.
I recommend this place if you like your long wait to be rewarded with utter garbage instead of food. And if you like surprises in the form of checks for a larger amount than expected.
Edit: I've checked the photos of pizzas in other reviews, and haven't seen anything similar to what I had. What I received was a greeny-yellowy substance with some sort of algae, suspiciously looking meat and a strong smell (and taste) of a water from a can of marinated cucumbers. I am questioning...
Read moreReviews are different, but I guess I went to W Pizza on a good day! I’ve ordered the pizza picante (with spicy salami & stracciatella) and it didn’t disappoint! It was a good amount of „toppings“ and the right amount of spiciness for me. I’ve also loved having a little more tomato sauce. The best part was the distinguishable taste of the dough for me, which almost reminded me of a good sourdough bread.
The employees were very friendly and helpful, I was event asked if I’d like my coffee stronger or weaker, which was a nice touch. The pizza was ready within minutes after order.
Sitting outside might get a little loud, as it’s right on the corner of two streets with tram lines but it didn’t bother my friends and me. For this area it would be my...
