Paule's Metal Eck — Restaurant in Berlin

Worst experience I've ever had in a bar, I've never encountered such bad manners in my life! My friend ordered us two whiskeys and diet cokes, the barman started to pour us two whiskeys then two diet cokes separately. When we politely told him we meant whiskey with diet coke he lost the plot and stormed out to smoke leaving us waiting! There was an angry "goth" girl working behind the bar slamming things around and refusing to serve any of the women who came in. If you look at the reviews, all of the good ones are local. I would strongly advise against going to this bar if you are not local as you will be treated with disrespect and made to feel uncomfortable. If they hate tourists so much maybe turn them away and tell people it's exclusive to locals, oh no wait they have no problem taking people's money I guess discrimination doesn't extend...

Paule's is an absolutely brilliant venue that is a must-visit if you're into metal. The atmosphere was fantastic for the entire night, which was impressive given we were there for almost 5 hours. The bar staff either spoke fluent English or were extremely patient while I struggled with broken German, and the drinks were predictably excellent (and well-priced!). Above all, I love how it feels open and spacious whilst simultaneously feeling enclosed and reclusive; I got my directions wrong on the way and ended up taking a three-hour trip to get there, and even in those circumstances I thought it was completely worth the effort. Paule's Metal Eck is "the" ultimate heavy metal/rock bar. Even if you are not a metal/rock fan, you need to visit this place at least for one beer. But don't do the mistake to ask "What kinds of beer do you have?" - Cause they have almost 50 different kinds there... %-()

The service personal can be compared to coyote ugly: "hot chicks". Plus they are all really nice and speak fluent english.

The Bar has a pool table and a view slot-machines to play with your friend while having a drink.

My personal recommendation regarding the drinks is the "B52" that they mix there.

All in all, this Bar is among the top #3 of Berlin, even if you are not...
