Sarod’s Thai Restaurant: A Thai Food Haven That Delivers!

The food here is good, and the menu offers plenty of options. The staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere is pleasant. We had a great time dining here. As someone who loves Thailand, Thai food, and Thai restaurants, I think there are a few things that could be improved to enhance the overall experience, especially considering the prices. The menu can be a bit difficult to navigate if you are not familiar with Thai cuisine. There are no pictures to guide you, and some of the dish names are spelled in unusual ways. With so many options, it can feel a little overwhelming. Most Thai restaurants include small chili icons to show spice levels, but those are missing here. To figure out how spicy a dish is, you need to read through the descriptions or ask the staff for guidance, which they are happy to provide. I also noticed that the food is served in a Western style, with separate courses, rather than in the traditional Thai way, where everything arrives at once. In Thailand, meals are a social experience. Dishes are shared, rice is plentiful, and everyone gets to enjoy a variety of flavors together. It would be wonderful to see this more authentic approach reflected here. Finally, I highly recommend adding a few Thai beers to the menu. German beer is excellent, but having a Chang or a Singha would make the Thai dining experience feel more complete.

Easily the best Thai outside of West Berlin/Wilmersdorf area. The service is great, very friendly staff who are happy to recommend or alter dishes to your needs, smiley and very friendly. Classic dishes like papaya salad and pad Thai were great, the lemongrass tofu was the highlight though. People beside us had the crab and it looked fantastic. Very veggie/vegan friendly, little more expensive than Thai park of course but the quality and ingredients justify the price. Living locally we try to go once or twice a month, hands down the best Thai in Kreuzberg and one of the best in Berlin.

They accused us of lying. We sat down at a table where there was no reservation sign. We thought it belonged to the coffee place next to it but this cafe was apparently closed and the restaurant used the tables. Then the waitress from the restaurant came to us and said this table is reserved. I answered, oh but there is no sign here. ( The rest of the tables where also all still free btw. ) She answered that we could sit at another table. I asked the waitress if we could stay at the table we were because we needed a bigger one for our laptops and we just wanted a coffee. She said that that was no problem and we could stay there then. A couple minutes later, I think it was the boss, came out and said again, this table is reserved, that he put the sign there himself. I answered again, but there wasn’t one. Then he was really unfriendly and said, but yes there was one, accusing us of lying! Sorry but you can’t do that! We didn’t lie. I packed my stuff immediately and walked away. Don’t want to sit in a place where they...

We had a bad experience at a restaurant today. It was a waste of time and money. it's not an authentic Thai restaurant, it's an authentic German service restaurant.

The food was average, and not worth the ONE-HOUR wait. The staff and manager were unfriendly and unapologetic.

To add insult to injury, the food was ONE HOUR late, and they didn't apologise. When we asked for the bill, they made us wait outside in the cold for 20 minutes and watched us suffer in the cold.

The staff even lied to us, claiming that they were preparing the bill, but it was clear that when we inside they couldn't even find the bill.

We eventually went inside to pay, but the manager spoke to the staff and asked us to step aside because we were in the way of other customers. We didn't intend to cause any inconvenience, but they made us wait for the bill for a long time, that's why we had to go inside.

Overall, we would highly recommend AVOIDING...
