EDIT: Dear Sirene, let me shortly reply to your response. Food and taste are very subjective. I still stand behind my point that I ate better breakfast in Berlin. This doesn’t mean your Turkish egg can’t be loved by other customers. And I also find 0.5l very generous :) My point was, that it is maybe unnecessary generous and I would prefer less tea with better quality for similar price. Regarding the coffee, the comment about “burned taste” was more oriented on the possible problem with preparation of the coffee.
3.5/5
My eggs benedict was tasty, but nothing spectacular by Berlin standards. (But I must praise the bread from Zeit für Brot- delicious). A little salt or spice would help, but I understand this may be subjective. My friend's Turkish eggs were not that great and we would not order them again. The coffee tastes "burnt" and not good at all. The black tea was okay but definitely not high quality. It is a shame that they only offer 0.5l of mediocre tea for 5€.
Quite disappointing was the often confused looking stuff and the lack of chefs in the kitchen - although there were plenty of empty seats inside, we (and many other people) had to queue outside because the kitchen couldn't keep up. On the other hand, once we were seated, the food came out quite quickly.
Overall: a nice place, but we don't understand the hype and probably won't be...
Read morePretty new brunch place. We came with a recommendation and were pretty hopeful for this place. To start with them the good. I really enjoyed the coffee and the staff was very nice. The food was fine, but nothing extraordinary unfortunately. The eggs with salmon were good, salmon was pretty nice. The pancakes have a really nice caramel sauce but they were more acidic and hay what I was expecting, but this is a personal preference.
For the points I think they could improve: Staff was very kind, but inattentive, we had to try to call their attention multiple times to get sugar, salt, order dessert, get the check, napkins, etc. At one point I had to get up and ask for salt because our food was getting cold. Turkish dish could have used some additional ingredients, the dish does not have a wrong description, but it’s just yogurts, eggs and bread. The yogurt to bread ratio was a bit off as we had a lot of leftover yogurt and nothing to eat it with. One, of four, of our poached eggs were over cooked, the rest was perfect The cutlery was not appropriate for dishes that have bread and require cutting, the knifes were not doing the work.
In summary, it’s a good start, but they are missing some attention to detail when it comes to the service and some additional development on the dishes. Will come back in...
