This place used to be one of our favorite in Neukölln. We used to go there to have a glass of wine with friends and buy some bottles of our favorite wines to enjoy at home. However, after not having service on the street in summer for a while, I think the place has new owners, who adopted a new policy, service and culture. Today, I gave it another chance and totally disappointed: First of all, they have no menu anymore (which they explained it a few months ago that it is better to have personal contact. No! Not always. Why should I wait at the desk with other customers to know more about what you offer, instead of having the chance to have a look at the menu, as it was the case before, with friends and read about the characteristics of wine and decide?). So they have only one price; 6.90 Euros for 0,2 glass for each wine. For Neukölln it is an average or a bit higher than the average (depends on wine). And what really annoyed me was, after ordering a bottle of wine today we asked for a glass of tab water, which again used to be a tradition at this pub and we didn't even need to ask for it. It is still a common tradition among Neukölln pubs and cafes to offer tab water, in most cases owners even have a big cans of waters where guest can drink as much as they can. Here I am not talking about money and costs, rather about a CULTURE! And when we asked for water, the waiter told us that the boss does not allow it but since he is not there he could bring us. I tried to explain my opinion but he kept telling me how difficult the situation is for gastronomy after Covid and their prices are very cheap (which is not true at all) and we should support the pubs. He even said that one should be able to effort buying water themselves when going to a place like that. He didn't get our point at all. We told him that we used to come here often and we like the place, but it is not about being able to effort paying for water (which we did at the end of this discussion). And finally, they didn't turn on the heating nor put the fire on. It was -2 outside and we kept sitting inside with our wool and fleece jackets and hats. This place can maybe facilitate in Mitte or Prenzlauer Berg (even there would they not claim that 6,90 Euro / 0.20 ml glass is cheap). But we will never ever go...
Read moreI visited this bar with a friend the other night and was really looking forward to trying it. As other reviewers have said, it's cozy with a decent wine selection and outdoor seating for a warm summer night. My friend and I looked through the store and chose a bottle to share that we found interesting and was not too expensive. Unfortunately, we were charged 14 euro for the corkage fee for this bottle that we bought AT THE BAR, which was more than the cost of the bottle!! I find that extremely unreasonable for this kind of wine bar in Neukölln - in fact, I wouldn't expect to pay a corkage fee for a product bought in-house anywhere. To so blatantly take advantage of your customers is honestly insulting.
On top of that, when we went to pay, the bar manager insisted on adding a tip!! I don't think I've ever experienced that kind of rudeness and audacity. This place is trying to pass as a friendly, neighborhood wine bar, but don't...
Read moreI’ve been coming to the store regularly for many years, especially when it comes to wine. And over time, one thing has become increasingly clear to me: when I’m looking for a new wine, there’s only one person I want to talk to - Yanneth ! :)
Yanneth is one of the most knowledgeable and genuinely warm employees I’ve ever met. Her ability to take my often vague ideas and translate them into the perfect wine recommendation is simply impressive. Whether it’s white or red wine, with her keen sense, deep experience, and remarkable intuition, she always manages to match my taste perfectly.
I’m especially amazed by her expertise in red wines. Every recommendation she’s given me has been a hit, in both taste and style. It’s truly a pleasure to get advice from her. You can feel her passion for wine, and she always takes the time to listen carefully and offer personalized suggestions.
Thank you for your...
