The prices are a bit higher than the average in the area, but that's understandable. However, they can be extremely rude towards (non-european) guests for no apparent reason. Last weekend I was there with some friends and the barman told us that parties bigger than 6 people were not allowed in our table (we were 5 but waiting for a couple more friends). When more friends arrived we asked if they could sit in another separate table so as to keep the party size below the threshold, but the barman didn't let my friends take any other table even though more than 50% of the tables were completely empty and instead asked us to move (all of us, which would make it a party of more than 6) to one table in the corner in which we didn't fit. When a couple of friends (who were not aware of the situation) sat instead in another empty table because there were no more seats in ours, the barman came rudely and said "You think you can sit here? No, you can't, move!" at which moment we asked why was he being rude to us for no reason and he started saying that we were not behaving properly, that we were more than six (even though we asked to be sat separately and said that we would leave soonn anyway, but he asked us instead to sit together in the corner table) and that we were being too loud (we were just having normal conversations, not shouting or singing, and it was early so no one was drunk) and thus had to leave. Our group was all latinxs and we were speaking spanish so maybe that's something that can count as "not behaving properly" for them? No idea. Terrible bar, never had such an experience in...
Read moreConsidering the bar culture in Berlin, I was surprised that one of the bartenders of two on shift had the time to insist on seating us at places at 4 am as well as condescending comments from the other colleague of how table service works when we had gone to the bar to make an order. From that point on, the intentional disregard and lack of service was tangible; people seated after us had gotten menus and were nearly done with their first round by the time we were "greeted“ with our own menus and water. I’m talking nearly a half an hour. The bartender who took our order (2 glasses of sekt and a beer) had to come back to ask again what beer i wanted after 15 min. I have worked in another country in the service industry myself and while Berlin customer service has reformed my expectations on how to treat people with hospitality and service, this place takes the cake. Quite a shame considering i was in a good mood, excited to see their selections of Belgian beer. Go ahead and go if you’re are apathetic about passive aggressive, snarky behavior from the staff, i hope your experience is...
Read moreHorrible place!. I was there with two friends for a quick drink on 17.09.25. The bartender was arrogant, unfriendly, and downright disrespectful. Even though I spoke fluent German (I’ve lived here 9 years and have a C2 certificate), he refused to answer me in German and only replied in the driest English. When I went to the counter and paid I choose not to tip, instead of showing the slightest curiosity why, he commanded me to pick up our glasses and bring them to him — as if he doesn’t already get a salary for doing his job. When I refused, he turned aggressive and berated me in front of everyone, he even followed me outside on the street. My friends were shocked and confused, other guests were uncomfortable, and the whole atmosphere was unwelcoming from the moment we walked in. In 35 years, I’ve never had such a humiliating experience in a bar or any other place whatsoever. Mediocre service, toxic attitude, zero respect for customers. Avoid this place like the plague. Lord know I will never show...
