bona'me Köln-Deutz — Restaurant in Cologne

Design of the restaurant was really nice :)

Their ordering system is similar to Vapiano with card. It is good, because you do not wait to give an order.

Food got ready quite fast, the presentation was one of the best I have seen so far in Germany and prices were really good for that.

We had tea, sütlaç, ayran, beyti kebap, tavuklu saç and meze platter.

Ayran was really good and homemade, tea as well. Beyti kebap was a bit too oily and they used kofte inside - we always ate it with adana kebap, not sure which one is correct :), but its flat bread was super yummy.

Tavuklu saç was really good, not very heavy but filling and yummy.

Breads in meze platter was not feeling very fresh, and some of the mezes (such as sausage one) we did not try, because it was nit looking warm or fresh. But cacik and crispy manti was super good!

Tea was fresh and big for its price, and sutlac was so same to what I get at home. It was super good.

If I visit Köln, I would come...

I really like this place because I am turkish and it is nice to have a place in Nrw to have some turkish food other than Kebab. But I really don't like the self service system here. You go and order from a board, try to make it right, get stressed, get a handbell for your order, go pick your drink from the bar when it rings, and then go pick your food from the kitchen when the other bell rings, get your own cuttlery ... It is not nice to come to a restaurant and run after your food, specially when its this complicated. We came to have a rest and some food and in the end I was even more tired and couldn't even sit till we get our food finally with my friend. I can recommend tacos, was three different kind, one with cheese, one with sucuk and one with köfte. So was a nice experience. I used to come to this restaurant quite often and always enjoyed the atmosphere. it’s cozy, and I’ve always liked how they serve drinks in such interesting cups. However, after visiting again recently (after more than a year), I was a bit disappointed.

It feels like the management has changed or something isn’t quite as organized as it used to be. Some of the staff didn’t seem very confident or attentive, and the overall service could definitely improve. Even small things, like the fireplace not working, made the experience less enjoyable.

I think the restaurant still has potential. it just needs better management and a bit of care to bring back the charm it used to have. In general, it’s still okay, but I hope they make some...
