Fish Market — Attraction in Cologne

As a large consumer of fish this market is my Mecca. Let me take you through my day: 06.30: wake up, shower, eat tuna for breakfast 07.47: walk to work via fish market and pick up either plaice (if the date is an even number) or haddock (if the date is an odd number) for lunch 08.03: arrive at work 3 minutes late. This adds up to 12.5 over a year which I am being paid for! 13.20: lunch. i warm my fish in the office microwave then eat it with pre boiled potatoes. 15.10: often i end up having a conversation with Angie from HR about the smell of fish that i emit. I dont see the problem personally. 16.57: leave work. another free 12.5 hours! I pick up cod (even) or sea bass (odd) on my way home as well as tuna for tomorrow's breakfast.

As you can see the fish market is an essential part of my day and I highly recommend...

Fish Market? I didn't see fish anywhere :s. Of course you have tons of restaurants and in some of them you will probably find fish. It's strange that even the place is crowded all the time it's not so loud like I tougt it would be, so you can eat and have a normal conversation without yelling at each other.

The old little houses are adorable, everything is so colourful that at one point you feel like a cartoon character. It's something about the feeling there that makes me wanna take a walk every time I visit Cologne. Although I think most people would say you don't need to spend more than a few minutes walking trough because it isn't special floor them however I feel good and this little streets inbetween the buildings send you to to a time...

The Fish Market area in Cologne is where old meets new in the best way you believe me (: Those riverside houses with their bright colors are perfect for photos or selfie if you travel alone like me… especially in the evening when the sunlight hits just right, creating an amazing atmosphere. Grabbing a beer pr coffee here is a must, but don’t just stick to the touristy spots wander a bit further, and you’ll find better and cheaper places. Also, take your time exploring the side streets, that’s where the real hidden gems are. And yeah, don’t leave without taking a walk by the river it will...
