My wife and I had an exceptional time with "The Kölsch Crew" brewery tour while in Cologne, and much of that credit goes to our guide, Hanna. From the moment we met, her warm and inviting demeanor made us feel like we were in for something special — and we were right. Hanna wasn't just a guide; she was an educator, a storyteller, and quickly became a friend. Her passion for Cologne and its breweries was infectious, and her depth of knowledge was simply unparalleled. But what truly stood out was how personable she was, effortlessly connecting with us, ensuring our tour was more than just sightseeing — it was an unforgettable experience.
Beyond sharing details about the breweries, she had a wealth of knowledge about Cologne's history that she seamlessly integrated into our tour. We especially appreciated the flexibility to trade one brewery stop for a "walking beer" — a unique way to enjoy the city's sights. It was evident Hanna had a great relationship with the brewery staff, making our stops feel personal and welcoming. The booking process was smooth and for the experience we got, the price was more than reasonable. I'd recommend this tour to anyone visiting Cologne, but more importantly, if you can, ask for Hanna — she'll make it...
Read moreMy friend and I, two middle aged women, joined a mixed group, some in their 20's, some a little older for the brewhouse tour. I think it's safe to say, this is a popular tour which means it attracts a good crowd. Not every brew house can accommodate a large'ish group (some can) but they make the best of it for us. We get served promptly outside, it's a very efficient setup and the guides are known or recognised in every brewhouse they stop at, it's great fun. You pay a couple of euro's for each drink you have (all Kolsch, tasting different in different bars).
This is the thing though. The guides. If you are lucky enough to get Felix, he is smashing! He is so knowledgeable and interesting. He appears interested in his subject matter, even though he must roll those lines out a couple of evenings a week. He is resourceful, diplomatic, helpful, considerate (has an eye on everyone, including drunken would be intruders) and very funny (dry humour)! The guide brought us together as a group, with his tales and 'funnies'. It turned out to be the most fun thing we did while in Cologne. I highly recommend this tour, thanks Felix. And actually, I highly recommend Cologne. I loved...
Read moreThree words, BOOK THIS NOW. This tour was by far one of the best tours I have ever been on, (and I would say I am fairly well travelled around Europe.) My friend and I were in Cologne for her birthday and I booked this as a present to her.
Michael was our tour guide, and noone else had booked the public tour that night so we basically got an amazing private tour! The 4 beer houses we went to were incredible and Michael told us so much about the history behind them all. He also taught us a little German that night too as we didn't know any!
Michael was friendly, knowledgeable and made us laugh all night. The thing that really stood out for us is that he stayed out later with us past the tour ending time to have a drink with us and just chat. We had a fantastic time and really want to come back and bring our other friends. If you are looking for a beer tour in Cologne, look no further.
Best beer tour ever! The hangover the next day not so much though haha! Thankyou for showing us a great time, this was definitely our favourite part of...
