Café Pistazie — Restaurant in Cologne

AVOID! This is NOT a 4.6* place. The place is dishonest and the owner is a petty tyrant. Look at the responses to reviews below.

We ordered the mememen (€10) + menemen highlight (€14). I normally love this dish, but at this cafe, it’s awful.

The meneman is not cooked to order. The meneman is not fresh, luke warm, watery, flavourless and has no real egg. The meneman ‘highlight’ adds a teaspoon of low quality feta cheese and some cheap black olives. The bread is fridge cold and stale.

For the price, €24 for 2, it’s an absolute rip off for poor quality and unsatisfying food.

The owner barks at customers to share tables as they come in. She wants to maximise customer turnover and to exercise her pettiness. Her behaviour made everyone uncomfortable. If a group of 4 customers arrive, just ask the customers to make space!

To serve dishes, the waiter leans over other tables and customers. No serviettes, only crappy tissues.

Dirty too. To clean, crumbs are wiped from the table to the floor. No disinfectant spray.

This place should be avoided at all costs. It’s rude, unsanitary, and an absolute trap.

Don't go to this cafe if you don't want to ruin a day of your vacation! We arrived at this cafe by chance and when we entered it we were not even greeted. We were asked what we wanted to drink and if it was takeaway or on location. Of course the lady who asked us rolled her eyes when we told her that we wanted to drink the 3 coffees there (yes, I mentioned 3 coffees because only 2 were brought to us). The coffee was extremely bad, with only traces of coffee and the rest, only traces of water. In the meantime, the lady started mopping next to us, moving tables and we got up to leave without even finishing our coffees (we saw in the meantime on google that the location seems to be closed, but this was not mentioned to us for a second. We wouldn't have stayed if we knew). We went to pay with the card and she shouted at us and told us that we can't pay with the card only if we have a check bigger than 10 euros (which we didn't have). We paid in cash and left with a...

The food that we ordered was tasty BUT: the cafe is super crowded and it takes 30 minutes for the waiter to bring the menu and extra 30 minutes to bring the food and so on we came there in a group of 4 (+ a child) and ordered breakfast for two for each couple. They brought one menemen and one scrambled eggs. We paid 100 euros and left hungry. because they didn't bring enough eggs and/or dips, we kept asking for more bread just to calm down the hunger but the look that the waiter was giving us every time that we asked for bread was something. As if we were committing a crime...

I think this place used to be really nice and cosy but now it became a tourist attraction and they are just milking their customers and charging a lot while...
