The restaurant is licated in a very beautiful place, the decorations and service were on top. But no restaurant can be successful without a good food, right? Per my experience, hummus and bread were very delicious. That’s shamefully it. I was tempted to order Korean chicken salad or a burger, but I thought: “no, I’m in an Israeli restaurant, I should try Israeli cuisine”. My sister ordered fried eggplants and for me I got hamshuka. Portions were terribly small and food was tasteless. Even if portions were bigger, not me neither my sister could’ve finished our plates. Absolutely tasteless. Salt and pepper didn’t help much Moreover it was very overpriced for “street food of Israel” After paying a decent amount of money, we still were hungry but too sad to go somewhere else It was the only time in my life when I was that dissatisfied with food If you’re vegan/vegetarian and you’re not used to eat a lot, I totally recommend it. But since I’m an average person, I don’t recommend it to other average people, who’re used to eat a bigger amount of...
Read moreThe location is stunning but the staff is appalling. Maitre or head of service was completely unprofessional, he tried to tell us (2 people) that they were closed and send us away when the restaurant was half full and tons of dishes were still coming out of the kitchen. I literally had to insist to take a seat and I was shown a very uncomfortable table outside, while half of the inside room was literally empty, and for what he said, not even reserved. It was 2:30PM on a Sunday and we Asked for a cappuccino and a thee (which they refused to take to the table for some reason and I had to wait by the counter) and I was given two cappuccinos (the worst I’ve ever had). They didn’t even give us an apology for the wrong order. Got my tee after waiting 10 minutes and it was without a spoon, which I had to request. Had to go back to my own table with a tray and the two drinks on it by myself. Totally unacceptable in such a place. It’s pointless to keep calling everyone Madam and Sir if you can’t do the...
Read moreAlmost never leave negative reviews (check my profile) and really never leave a dessert - but tonight! Sticky date cake wasn't to our taste - like banana bread with salted caramel and a citrus ice cream. A little bizarre perhaps but not badly executed.
The tiramisu on the other hand was just whipped cream with some biscotti on the side. We asked why it was like that and the service staff told us it was just their version. I know it's hard working in a restaurant where the food doesn't live up to the price or expectations, so I do have some sympathy for the staff. Still, I think they should be able to offer something to ameliorate the disappointing experience. Nothing was forthcoming.
We don't live in Cologne and don't imagine we'll be back, but we've had such nice food everywhere else! I'd advise you to save your money for another of the city's fine establishments.
We only went there for dessert so I can't comment on the other food. They also charge 4 euros per person...
