Jan2025 I visited this cafe again in January and I must say that I like it better now. It seems it has gone through a rehaul but the staff are new and much nicer. Also I like their drinks better especially the cinnamon roll cafe latte. Homemade and especially delicious. I do like the vibe of the cafe because they also have couches and people are really relaxed in there and there is a mix of people. Before that I felt it was too much of a hipster place. We really felt comfortable the praktikant was very lovely and trying very hard and he did a good job thank you very much. Will come back again and thank you for the delicious cinnamon roll cafe latte.

2024 It's obviously popular, yes. But it's it worth the wait?

As a 'single' person wanting to enjoy a breakfast out, this was very close my apartment. And knowing that it changed owner some time ago, I definitely wanted to try it out. When arriving it was packed, so I say on a high table and chair next to entrance. Fine for me. Then another person joined, which is completely fine. And a third person arrived and say next to me We, three, clearly without any company, ordered our meals, drinks, cakes. The young girl was ever so helpful, clearly feeling sorry for us, since we all waited a long time for shakhshuka, cake, coffees. I of course understand, if you're busy and a table becomes available for a bigger party of 3 you don't deny them that. Soooooo understandable. BUT, a big but, if you are not staff IN THE KITCHEN as you should, to prep and cook food in a timely manner to be served, then please, don't drag us all in, by making us wait a very long time, getting into a bad mood, because it takes nearly an hour for scrambled eggs. Prioritise! Both my seat neighbours have changed their orders and were disappointed. Not nice. So far I'm not considering returning since the shakhshuka was also not really nice, smallish and somewhat flavourless.

Really liked the coffee, so this might be the most I'll come...

LATER EDIT: Since one of the owners got in touch and gracefully explained the unfortunate turn of events that led to our experience (he even refunded us the full bill), I have changed my review to 5 stars since we understand that some days are just bad and we really support the "family friendly" café concept. The food was good and the peach ice tea was delicious. Sadly, since everything took so long, we didn't get to taste any of the cakes, but they certainly looked amazing!

A very disappointing experience. It's pointless to have a family-friendly room when it takes 1 and a half hours to get the food, including the baby food... On top of that, one of the girls at the bar was incredibly rude, informing me I had to pay if I want butter for my bread (yes, even after waiting so long for the food) and to make matters worst she decided we had to pay double for that butter, fantastic service! Lastly, after they themselves offered to give us ONE drink for free, my husband had to insist on getting them to keep to their word when paying for the bill, so sadly, I do not recommend this place and would...

I went there for the first time because the location was nice. I ordered a drink and waited for 10 minutes and after that still no drink had arrived. I went inside to ask for it and I was told, by another waitress, that the first waitress to whom I had asked for the drink was in her lunch pause and I would get it as soon as she would end it. As an option, she told me she could do it too (wow!) I got my drink after almost 10 minutes, in an overflowing glass. The ground on the terrace is covered in broken glass and I even saw a large metal needle there. Be careful if you have dogs or small children. Obviously, I...

CAFÉ GLOCKE is a very charming café and restaurant, located right at the heart of Dresden's fancy and hip NEUSTADT area. The staff is pretty and super charming - as most Saxonians around. The only minus: only small beers and only cashless payments (the author is the biggest fan of card payments by Visa and Mastercard in general). The owner thinks the total cash ban saves him substantial accounting, reporting and management costs. The tip situation benefiting the staff may be less beneficial under the bottom line. This costs a star. Or maybe another 1, 2 stars next time
