Ristorante Classico Italiano Gaststätte — Restaurant in Dresden

On my first visit to Frankfurt, Germany in 1983 I dined at a restaurant where Giuseppe Balducci took very good care of me. The food was superb, the service extraordinary - the entire staff making sure the experience was one to remember. For years, whenever I returned to Germany I made it a point to dine w/ Giuseppe and the team. Sadly, for me, I was saddened to hear that he moved to Dresden and he was now at Italiano Classico. While I have not had the opportunity to dine at the new location I am sure that you will experience the same memorable times their that were at the Golfo de Naploi and Pulcinella locations in Frankfurt. Further, from looking at the website pictures, the singing by the wait staff that seemed to occur on most nights looks like it continues in tradition with Giuseppe's entertaining way. I can see that some of my favorite dishes are on the menu. If I ever have the chance to visit Dresden, Italiano Classic is on my list on 'must do' places...

We came to the restaurant expecting tasty food and nice atmosphere. Sadly, from the begining till the end no one there was friendly (except one lady on the 2nd floor). Moreover, they were really rude and complained about everything, (they didn't mind a big dog being in the restaurant and trying to eat from the table though) for example; me standing next to the table while waiting for the waiter to greet other clients. He literally said "what are you doing?! This is restaurant!". It's not the only thing. They got angry even when we asked if we can sit at the certain table "wait! don't u see it's not prepared". Well, we just wanted to be sure there is no reservation. No word "please" was used there.

We ordered two different kinds of pasta and two pizza. Nothing special. For an Italian restaurant everything was prepared very poorly. Some of the dishes had almost no taste. The prices were really high but the quality of the food sadly not.

We don't recommend it...

The worst service we ever had in a restaurant! We called and asked for 2 pizzas to take away. When we arrived we asked them if we could sit outside and to have our pizzas served to us instead of take away. It was a cold night and they did not want to serve us outside. We told them.that cold is no problem and we would prefer to sit outside. After a lot of asking and trying to persuade them they finally agreed to put our pizzas in plates and serve them outside. The table outside had some rain water and when the waiter brought the pizza we asked him if he could wipe clean the table! He said no! He was very rude, he threw the plates on the table - full of rain water- and asked us to pay the bill straight away! Very rude personnel! Very bad people! These people should not be in restaurant business! It is a disgrace and the manager of the place should do...
