Warning: Do not go in with your kids if you do not have a whole day 🙈

Insane number of exibits related to road, water and air transport. Extensive descriptions, movies, experiments to enjoy for all ages.

For kids there are additional busy boards or games to keep them occupied. There is also a big pit with LEGO to design your own house.

At the top floor there is a model train that runs a few times a day (there is a reminder on screens when the show begins). On the same floor there is a huge traffic-themed playground with a lot of ride-on vehicles.

Only two downsides are: lack of dediacted parking (but there is a public one not very far) and only one bathroom on the ground floor (not very convenient while the kids designated area is on the top floor and the distance is really far).

But all in all a wonderful experience, will...

I was walking in the area then I saw the sign outside the building for the Dresden Transport Museum, so I thought I would give it a shot since I was free that day anyway. I went into the museum expecting to spend no more than 1 hour, but ended up spending over 3 hours! I was honestly surprised by how much there was to see and explore.

The ticket price is very reasonable, especially considering how much time I ended up spending inside. It’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into curating the collection, and it’s definitely a spot worth visiting. Whether you are a local or just passing through, I highly recommend making time to check it out. Definitely...

Truly a lot to learn, ponder and experience. Wide exhibitions focusing one by one on air-, road-, water- and railtransport and its history. The large, detailed diorama upstairs was fascinatingly vivid, along with a wide variety of train miniatures. The filmed actors depicting historical figures brought history alive in the train section. Full price entrance was 11€ and the museum offered learning opportunities and cool sights for every cent. Every piece of information had translations into fluent English, which made the museum as accessible for an English-speaking tourist as for any German.
