After a long, exhausting day at Koelnmesse, my colleague and I set off on a noble quest: to find a quiet, cozy spot for dinner. What we didn’t expect was to stumble upon a hidden gem just behind our hotel (the Holiday Inn Express at the central station). Only a five-minute stroll through a serene residential area led us to a delightful surprise. This little eatery offers burgers that are as fresh as they come—pressed, grilled, and juicy, just how nature intended. Not to mention, there’s something for everyone: schnitzel options (both classic and modern twists), and even vegetarian. But here’s the kicker: the peacefulness. It was so quiet and calm, you’d think we had entered a Zen temple for foodies. No blaring music, no chaotic chatter—just us, our plates, a couple of young lovebirds a couple of tables away, and the soft sound of our contentment. The end of a hectic workday never tasted so good. Wasn’t not expecting to stumble upon this Gem of a German Burger experience.

My Cheeseburger was hot, made to order, and the fries were noteworthy.

Got their before the evening rush and good thing.

It’s a one man operation.

He takes your order, cooks your food, he brings to the table, you pay him when finished.

Very efficient operation.

So imagine instead of a pickle on your burger you get a cucumber slice. That’s the difference here.

By the time we left, this place was full of patrons.

This man deserves success.

Loved it - 100% recommended As a non-native, I went in with some concern on whether I would be able to communicate well. Pleasantly, one of them was very well-versed in Englishe and helped me place my order very easily.

The food tasted amazing - So much that I contemplated to not try other burgers and stick to the one that I ordered.

Cleanliness and atmosphere is very nice too. Candles and other lights set a very warm cozy mood. Looking forward to...
