Hotel Schumacher — Hotel in Dusseldorf

The hotel was reasonably priced. I didn't expect that there would be no fridge in my room. This was my first time of being in an hotel without a fridge though. I guess they have standards according to the prices of the rooms, but this should always be stated on their website in order to help customers to decide. Overall, not a bad experience except that the hotel is situated just beside the road, and the noises from passing cars might be a bit of distraction.

A fridge is a standard thing in hotel rooms in my part of the world(even the 3 star hotels), and I thought it is the same everywhere. Good that you mentioned it in your response that it is not a standard. If someone have never visited Germany, one might not know this. I stayed in a single room in the hotel. It was perfectly nice and within easy walking distance from the main station. I was not there for too long, just doing some work in the room, and having a quick bite to eat out.||||Honestly, the area around the hotel is a bit shady. Not a 3 star hotel at all. Felt really unsafe in this hotel. Had a very bad night of sleep because of all night very loud noise on 5th floor. From 2 till 6 am(!) steady, multiple male visitors calling at the door of the room next door with conversations and loud sounds that doesn't take a rocket scientist to determine what happened in this room with the (same) loud female. Night was ruined and I recommend to avoid this place. Paperthin walls here and if this kind of activities are taken place in a hotel, I will as a regular Düsseldorf visitor not come back here as there are many more options.
