We had a reservation at 8 o clock, but when we arrived, the waitress told us that they signed for 9. They didn't offer any alternative to correct the mistake, so we just walked away.
EDIT: The owner contacted us the day after and apologised for the mistake. He also sent us a voucher and told us to give them a second chance, so we accepted it and went for dinner today. The team was super nice, we tried many dishes and have to say that the quality is very high. We love Japanese food and have tried it in many different restaurants in the city. Some dishes here are unbeatable, like the ebi tempura, the handmade gyoza and the three-dishes-starter we will take them for sure also next time. Thanks again, we loved the way you handled...
Read moreI am surprised at how this restaurant has gone downhill in the past 6 months. I live in Pemplefort and used to frequent this restaurant whenever I had a craving for sushi. Tonight I decided to try the "grill"/ teriyaki menu and feel compelled to rate the poor quality of the fish for the "saba no kaba yaki" and the "lachs saikyou yaki" - the fish tasted like it was just out of the freezer! My wife and I left the dishes half-eaten, paid the bill, and left.
I hope that tonight was simply an anomaly and that the teriyaki food is normally better - or perhaps I should just stick with the maki rolls. Nonetheless, I am disappointed for the food...
Read moreFrom the first bite I took, i immediately knew I'd come back to this restaurant. There are many great Japanese restaurants in Düsseldorf but this one must be one of the best ones I've been. It ticks all the boxes: Excellent food, friendly service, and a nice ambience. The tempura is lightly battered and perfectly fried. Gyoza has the right texture, and its filling is well-balanced. I love that the restaurant offers half a small portion of some of their dishes. It allows us to order a bigger variety for dishes for sharing.
