Ibras Bistro — Restaurant in Erfurt

We were intrigued by Sudanese food and decided to try Ibras Bistro on September 1 for lunch.

We ordered a grill mix teller (€10,50), a plate of cassava chips (€3,50) and a kofte (€6) to share between the three of us. For drinks we had two hibiscus tea (€2,50 each) and a bottle of pineapple drink from the fridge.

The service was decent and fast. The food was absolutely fresh, flavourful and delicious, although the flatbreads were very dry and cold. The portions were perfect as well. We loved almost everything about the food and were already planning to return for more.

When the bill came, we paid in cash and left. The total was €32,50. Later at home, we realised that:

They charged us €4,50 for the cassava chips instead of €3,50 as listed on the menu.

They charged us twice for drinks, so we ended up paying for 5 drinks instead of 3.

So in total they overcharged us €5,00. This was either an honest mistake on their part or a surefire way to lose us as customers (one of us is from Erfurt). Only they and their creator know the truth.

Suchte am Abend noch eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen. In vielen Restaurants/Imbissen war zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht mehr viel los. Aber im "Ibras Bistro" standen die Leute bis auf die Straße. Dies musste ein Qualitätsmerkmal sein. Also nichts wie hinein. Ich wurde freundlich bedient und das Essen kam nach kurzer Zeit am Tisch. War alles okay. Der Grillteller sah sehr gut aus und war mit vielen Spezialitäten belegt. Der Salat war sehr frisch und sehr leckerem mit Dressing angemacht. Das Fleisch war ebenfalls sehr lecker und saftig. Rundum war das ein sehr leckerer Grillteller und ich war sehr zufrieden, die richtige Entscheidung getroffen zu haben das "Ibras Bistro" in diesem Moment besucht zu haben. Einziges Manko fand ich das Fladenbrot/Pita, es war zäh und passte nicht zum Teller der ja sehr frisch war. Ich beobachte das es in der Mikrowelle aufgewärmt wurde. Das geht wesentlich besser, frisches Fladenbrot/Pita anzubieten. Die Besucher werden es euch danken. Aber es gibt dafür keinen Punktabzug, weil alles andere passte und ich vollends zufrieden war. Ibras is just an amazing place to eat in Erfurt. Once u are there you’ll return very soon. I always feel like in heaven when I eat some of the delicious things they got.
