There is no better location in Erfurt than the Krämerbrucke Hotel. It's as simple as that. It is smack in the centre of the old city and next-door neighbour to the iconic Krämerbrücke. You step out the door and you're right in the middle of the square in front of the bridge with great atmosphere and crowds of people enjoying a beer or a meal.||||It is a little odd to have this very modern hotel in the middle of all the old buildings but it means you can stay in absolute comfort and be right in the middle of everything. There is a fair bit of noise from all the activities in the square in the evening, but with the windows closed it is not a problem. We had the windows open because it was in July and warm, and the noise didn't bother us. It's part of the atmosphere.||||We had booked a double room with a view to the Krämerbrücke. We had room no. 318 on the top floor. You can see the Augustine Monastery, the square, and the Krämerbrücke from the room but to see the Krämerbrücke you have to lean out a bit. The windows are not large. But it is nice and certainly better than a view to one of the narrow streets or the back of the hotel. There are many mirrors in the room which is nice and some nice lighting details. There are small lights next to the bed with sensors that turn on automatically so if you get up in the night you have these small lights to guide you.||||The bathroom is not large but very nice and modern.||||The breakfast was amazing – a huge selection of cold and hot dishes – everything you can imagine.||||Driving to the hotel is doable but the cobbled streets are extremely narrow. There is hotel parking at road level at the side of the hotel and also a parking basement below the hotel. Both are quite narrow and get tightly packed. But at least you can bring your car.||||In summary, this is a very comfortable hotel in the best possible...
Read moreThe hotel's air conditioning was broken, but no one informed us of that when we checked in. We opened our windows because it was hot in the room, but bugs came in and we were on the ground floor with a parking lot behind us, and didn't feel comfortable leaving the large windows open when we went to sleep. So we turned on the air, but we woke up many times during the middle of the night because it was so hot. We went out to the front desk around 4 AM and then were told that the air conditioning was broken for the whole hotel. When we checked out we asked for a reduction in our room rate and they were only willing to give us 10% off. That didn't seem like enough, considering we could couldn't get much sleep in the very hot room. I cannot recommend this hotel on the basis of the air conditioner being broken during our stay and lack of...
Read moreMainly everything about the hotel is ok, but too expensive in my eyes. In general I enjoy charming bed and breakfasts as much as luxury hotels.||||At Hotel Krämerbrücke the lobby and lobby bar are the opposite of charming and definitely no place, where I'd enjoy a drink (website pictures show a far better atmosphere, than you'll get). Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and modernly styled - the bathroom was clean but of rather low standard. The corridor leading to our room smelled of food most of the time. The parking garage is right underneath the hotel - old mattresses stored there didn't offer a nice first impression though. ||||Service was friendly and the location is perfect. This holds true for most of the hotels in Erfurt though, as within the small city centre anything is in...
