Asia Hung — Restaurant in Essen

We ate here on the 28th of July 2025 at around 15:00. As an Asian, I expected good service and authentic Asian food. We had just traveled from Italy back to Germany, and since we were very hungry, we decided to have a late lunch.

Unfortunately, the service was terrible. I tried to inform the staff not to add chili because I have allergies. However, the girl misunderstood me—she thought I was asking where to pay or that I wanted drinks. My concern was clearly about the chili due to my allergy, but she didn’t listen. Her reaction made me feel as if she thought I was stupid.

If you are craving for Asian food, soups and rice; then this is your spot I would recommend. Nice and friendly service. The food taste good and the portions are huge considering the prices they offer. It was very filling for the stomach, and each curry had a huge portion of vegetables as compared to the rice. Leider ist dieser Laden in jeder Beziehung nur schlecht. Der Hauptgrund für diese Rezension ist aber, dass er nun nicht mehr nur schlecht ist, sondern ekelerregend. Ich laufe dort jeden Tag vorbei, d.h. ich berichte hier nicht über einen Einzelfall.

Es geh damit los, dass der Mann, der vorne die Nudelboxen verteilt, mit Vorliebe die Nudeln mit den Händen durchrührt. Er schein einfach besessen vom physischen Kontakt zum Essen zu sein.

Noch viel schlimmer ist allerdings der junge Mann, der am inneren Tresen bedient, Ware holt, einräumt und frittiert: Er holt eine Kiste paniertes Fleisch und stapelt den Kram ebenfalls mit nackten Händen auf der Ablage. Dann kommt er mit fettglänzenden Händen zur Bestellaufnahme und zum Kassieren. Anschließend nimmt er mein Stück Fleisch nochmals in die Hand und wirft es in die Fritteuse. Danach reinigt er das nebenstehende Schneidbrett mit einem Spachtel und befürdert den Krümlehaufen nicht etwa in den Mülleimer, sondern schiebt ihn in die nebenstehende Friteuse. So geht man einfach nicht mit Lebensmitteln um.

Das Essen ist außerdem insgesamt qualitativ minderwertig. Wenn ich mir alleine das Fleisch ansehe, das mehr Panade als Fleisch beinhaltet oder auch die Soßen, die weithend belanglos sind. Auch bei den gebratenen Nudeln scheint hier weniger ist mehr angesagt. Das Frittierfett ist ebenfalls nicht wirklich frisch.

Es ist mir ein Rätsel wie sich diese Kette...
