Asia Wok — Restaurant in Esslingen am Neckar

Dieser Schnellimbiss heißt genauso wie der andere Asia-Wok in der Küferstraße, ist aber deutlich jünger (hat erst in der Corona-Zeit aufgemacht) und wird von einer chinesischen Familie geführt, der ältere Asia-Wok von einer vietnamesischen.

Obwohl das Ambiente bei diesem deutlich schöner ist, der Gastraum auch viel größer und die Umgebung schöner (direkt am Hafenmarkt) und die Angestellten sehr nett und übertrieben freundlich sind, gehe ich trotzdem lieber zum „alten“ Asia-Wok (unbedingt das Bun Dao dort probieren!) und hier sind die Gründe:

Ich fühle mich bei diesem Asia-Wok immer unwohl, weil das Geschäftsmodell so merkwürdig ist und man gefühlt die Hälfte des Essens geschenkt bekommt (und ich wirklich nicht weiß, wie die Inhaber so Gewinn machen):

Man bekommt immer ungefragt Frühlingsrollen zum Hauptgericht und immer zusätzlich noch ein kostenloses Getränk mit auf den Heimweg, ja geradezu aufgedrängt, man muss mehrmals ablehnen, wenn man es nicht möchte (weil man es nicht verträgt oder man einfach keinen Durst hat, unnötigen Konsum oder Müll vermeiden möchte etc.). Selbst wenn man das alles ablehnt, bekommt man trotzdem kostenlose Banane oder einen Pflaumenwein aufgedrängt, was ich echt nicht verstehe. So, als MÜSSE jeder Gast irgendetwas gratis bekommen.

Ich fühle mich dabei sehr unangenehm, weil die Frau fast beleidigt ist, wenn man das ganze Gratis-Essen ablehnt.

Zusätzlich ist nur Barzahlung möglich und ich erinnere mich an keine Rechnung, die man als Gast nach Zahlung erhält. Alles in allem ein undurchsichtiges Geschäftsmodell, bei dem ich mich unwohl fühle.

Das Essen ist übrigens okay, aber geschmacklich nichts besonderes.
