Café Crumble — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Went for breakfast with my wife and we were satisfied. We arrived at 930am and managed to get one of the last tables. If you plan to go at 10am, prepare to wait. Reservation only for 8 people or more.

We arrived and it took them some time to serve us. They actually overlooked us and we had to ask for the menu. Then again it took some time for the drinks and we had to ask again to order the food. A table that arrived after us, got served food before us.

The food was ok. Nothing special but also not bad. The staff was very friendly and service oriented but not the most efficient. Bill totaled 33 Euro for 2 breakfasts and 2 teas and an OJ. Think that's fair for what was offered.

My wife said it was quite noisy due to the open kitchen. I didn't really mind.

Nice little place with ok prices, to have breakfast with a friend if you don't mind some flaws in...

Went there quite often when still living in Frankfurt. Thought it would be a good idea to go back there for breakfast during a stay in Bockenheim. Seating in the backyard is quite nice. However, the service was really slow and not paying much attention. It took quite a while until our order was taken. Then (good) coffee and (at first, wrong) juice was delivered after about 15min. After another 20min, we received greek yogurt. The ordered egg and croissants were not delivered after another 20min of waiting. Since there were similar issues at the table next to us (and we also had to drive home), we decided to pay and leave. The quality of food and drinks ist still really good, thus, it is a bit of a pity that the service is so bad. When leaving we were quite surprised to see a lot of staff inside the restaurant. Ich war für ein Paar Tage in Frankfurt und meine Freunde haben mich zum frühstücken eingeladen. Ich durfte frei wählen, wo wir frühstücken möchten. Naja, über Google habe ich diesen Gastronomie-Betrieb ausgewählt, weil die hoch geladene Bilder diesen Betrieb als 'klassisch alternativ' zeigten! Als erstes haben wir die Getränke bestellt und rechtzeitig bekommen. 3 Frühstücken für 3 Personen konnten nicht gleichzeitig serviert werden! Es wurden vergessen.... 2x Nachfrage , dann haben wir den Rest bekommen. Die Rechnung wurde aber gleich gestellt! Danke Schön. Als 'klein Frühstück' ein einfaches Brötchen + ganz klein und trockenes gedrücktes Croissant +kleine dünne Scheibe Butter für 4,50€ mehr als teuer! Auch die andere von uns bestellte 2 Frühstücken waren nicht anders. Die Toiletten befinden sich nicht im Betrieb sondern im Garten draußen., ca. 25 m. weit ... Interessant. Auf jedenfalls 'fehlt' die Gastronomie-Küche. Alles werden hinter der Theken 'ganz offen' ohne Schutz vorbereitet, es fehlt 'Absauganlage bzw. Lüftung! Hinter der Theke darf man/frau nicht mal zum Verkauf 1 Ei kochen und gleich dort abschälen und auf teller drücken! Die Serviererin arbeitet teilweise als Kellnerin und teilweise als Küchenhilfe... Kein Problem, wenn sie die Hände waschen würde. Auch derjenige, der dort Frühstück und die andere essbare Sachen vorarbeitet, könnte Schürze tragen und seine Hände 'nicht auf seinem Hemd sondern mit 'Kochschürze' abtrocknen und weiter für jemanden anderen Essen bzw. Frühstück vorbereiten. Wer als Koch/in arbeitet, wer serviert ist unklar.Mischmasch. Gesundheitliche bedenken.... Allgemein ist der Laden schmutzig. Im Laden ist die Luft nicht gesund. Mit diesen Kriterien ist der Laden 'teuer'. Freunde können tausenden von Sternen geben, in der Wirklichkeit sieht es so aus. Zum Frühstücken in Frankfurt kann man/frau einen anderen Laden suchen und finden. Ich kann es leider überhaupt nicht...
