Caffeppuccino — Restaurant in Frankfurt

Unfortunately, being from Melbourne, Australia where we are incredibly spoiled when it comes to coffee and coffee culture, I was very disappointed in the cappuccino here. Extremely overpriced. 4€50 seriously? Over $7 AUD? Laughable. Where is the standard chocolate dusting? It was nothing special and honestly it was not very palatable. Staff however were not unfriendly but not very warm and my coffee was kind of shoved in front of me. Sign that it is cash only could possibly be a bit more noticeable at the front entrance so I do not have to pay with PayPal...

Just an honest review and no personal maliciousness intended, but instead of feeling satisfied and happy after the coffee, I left with sour taste in my mouth as though I had been ripped off. I am not sure if I was charged so much because of being a "foreigner"... or perhaps one who is not from the right ethnic background. They seemed much friendlier to all the other customers including other anglophones but I do happen to be of a minority race. So that was just an interesting observation I had while...

My wife and I didn't get food - we only stopped in later in the day during a rainstorm for a cappuccino based on some other reviews I'd read - and the good reputation is deserved. The Italian gentleman (speaks Italian, German and English... maybe more?) running it made us a delicious drink (amazing beans), and we stood around having a really good conversation before and while he was making them. I only wish I'd returned to get some of his house-roasted beans to go - as someone who knows the science of coffee roasting, his beans were worth the visit. Delicious coffee! My friend who lives here took me to his favorite coffee shop and I have to agree with him. It's a gem! Excellent coffee and pastries along with light lunch bites. I had a Macchiato Latte and my friend had a cappuccino. We also purchased the mini eclairs (delicious). They have an outside standing bar where you can stand and sip coffee, or indoor seats. There was no wheelchair accessible area inside that I could notice, but I'm sure you could tap on the window and order outside if needed. The entire establishment, including the restroom, was clean.
