Very, and I mean very high quality food and fish! The cooks are professional enough to admit they would rather not serve you something bad if it is not to a high standards. They certainly appreciate customer loyalty and spoil you when the situation arises! The Saturday lunch Sashimi box is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced for such a high quality offered! The fish are superbly cut the Tuna they select (both for main and special cuts) are simply to die for! 😄
I Would strongly suggest to the management to consider a kids-free interval during peak dining hours from 19:30 onwards. I don't know how much the personnel notices but I am extremely uncomfortable with kids picking dishes and putting them back on the converyor belt after passing it close to their bodies and mouths. Either that or impose a clear rule that children below 12 years of age may not sit directly beside the converyor belt. They talk quite loud and in the direction of the food, and most dishes are not covered. It is very annoying to be looking angrily at parents who feel entitled to let their kids do as they would in their homes or telling them outright to makes their kids behave, and bluntly speaking I don't find it hard to figure out that families with small children do not make the customer Base of a moderate to high price/quality restaurant like Sushiko.
My other suggestion to Management is that smoking tables be limited to those facing Schwantallerstraße and not those on Schweizer Straße: on summer they open the windows and the cigarette smoke seeps in completely into the restaurant...
My best friend from Japan found it extremely surprising that you pay for green tea - in Japan it is considered a standard courtesy to offer it free of charge but then again we're not in...
Read moreOn a recent trip to Frankfurt, I was looking for a good place for lunch and sushika came up as highly rated. I think Germans get excited about what's new or different or unique in some way. Picking your food out from a conveyor belt is fun and seems cool and hip. The only problem is that the food isn't particularly good nor the ingredients particularly high quality for the price. The food that should be hot (like the tempura) isn't hot. And the food that should be cold (like the sushi) is kind of room temp and the sushi rice too cold (it should be warm, like body temperature).
There are also dishes that are served here that aren't even Japanese dishes. For example fried spring rolls. I think they are trying to appeal to a local crowd who wants a different type of cuisine who aren't knowledgeable enough to know the real differences in Asian cuisine. I live in California-in california, this restaurant would be struggling to be average. I have also traveled a lot to Japan. In Japan, this restaurant would struggle. Overall, I felt the high ratings didn't match my experience, but perhaps I am also not their...

Went in today and had a good conversation with one of the managers. Got my to-go order and left. The food was great, like normal. Will keep stopping in occasionally and hope the service issues are corrected.

Don’t waste your time!
Been coming here for 8+ years until summer of 2021. They had a large group they had to attend to and said they could not serve us outside when they were open another hour. I walked in and saw the group was already eating. Did not come back for over 2 years. Was in the area and decided to give them another chance. Walked in and was told the kitchen was closed 20 minutes before the lunch hours closed. Wow! Definitely will never go there again. Food is great, but their attitude has been horrible at times since they...
